CR1 interview scheduled or is it???

Hello fellow journeymen/women

The light at the end of the tunnel is sooo close that I can almost touch it. Alas, it looks like the Immigration gods are testing our will and paitents. My wife has been given an interview date for 4th of May, unfortunately she has a final exams in the first two weeks of May and there is no way she can postpone those either. So we'll have to try and reschedule the interview for later in May or it could get pushed out to June.

Anyone else been in a similar situation regardless of embassy? I'd like to know how flexiable the counsulates are at rescheduling interviews or whether they'll see this as a "red flag" of some sort.

I know in Pakistan if you are trying to adjust for ladies it is not an issue. I suggest you email the embassy and ask if they can change it for a couple of weeks later into May and see if they can help you with this matter? Also, do this soon as possible since times fill up quickly and it may be pushed into the following month if you wait too long.

Maybe someone from India will tell you exactly how their embassy works. Good luck.

I had my Interview last year but we already planed a wedding in switzerland and payed for everything, so we went to reschedule but unfortunately they will cancel the interview and than send you a new date, for me it has been 9 month and yet I have not a new interview date!! try to go to your interview!!!

u can just enquire from the embassy whether they can reschedule the interview and tell them your genuine cause

i hope thats possible otherwise just confirm it - before postponing date whether they cancel the date and give a new one ,

Call your embassy and tell them your situation. Ask them first if they can schedule you to the following month. or if you reschedule your wife's examination.

I had no problem rescheduling the interview for 3 weeks later. I even asked if it could be done in the week of January 8 and they approved it. My reason for rescheduling was that I could not have obtained all the documents needed for the interview and do the medical exam in two weeks time.

Better call the embassy so it will be clearer for you to what you can do before it's too late.

In our case, my husband called the USEM and he was told to just send a fax letter of reschedule interview request . So before he visited me last week of February, he already made a letter and we handed it to the USEM when he was here in my place. He stated the reason and indicated the month we would like to be reschedule and had a follow up call after 2 weeks and was told to have a follow up call this coming May 15 .

Thanks for the advice guys.

We tried calling the Mumbai consulate but kept getting a busy signal all day long. So I sent an e-mail requesting to change the interview date.

I taked to my wife about it yesterday, and there is no way that she can postpone her exams. She was told that if she does not attend the exam, she will be giving a failing grade.

At this point, I'd rather have her go to the exam than to the interview, even if it means the interview is postponed by a month or more.

I hope to receive some sort of conformation from the embassy in the next couple of days.
