Guys... I'm so mad! I didn't read the last line on the guide regarding sending evidence of a bonafide marriage for my I-130. I only read it now. I already received my NOA1 for my I-130 and sent in my I-129F and also received my I-129F! And i still didn't send it.

I really am upset that i mistakenly did not read that part!

What do i do? i really need everyone's help and opinions.

Thanks =(

Hopefully the marriage certificate will be enough. If not, they'll just send you an RFE and you send in your evidence. That's all, no biggie.

What evidence? You filed a petition within days of your marriage. Proof you got married is about all you have. Proving a bonafide ongoing relationship is something you do at interview. Not all possible submissions are appropriate for every petition.

Helpful reminder regarding the current form I-130:

The I-130 initial submission instructions now read:

"NOTE: In addition to the required documentation listed in 1)through 4) above, you should submit one or more of the following types of documentation that may evidence that bonafides of your marriage:

1) Documentation showing joint ownership or property; or

2) A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence; or

3) Documentation showing co-mingling of financial resources; or

4) Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, the petitioner, and your spouse together; or

5) Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship (Each affidavit must contain the full name and address, date and place of birth of the person making the affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner of beneficiary, if any, and complete information and details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge of your marriage); or

6) Any other relevant documentation to establish that there is an ongoing marital union.

The above is definitely included in the latest I-130 instructions but it is important to remember that the I-130 is for long standing marriages as well as new ones and everything in between. The OP filed their petition within two weeks of the wedding date. Such cases may have no possibility or opportunity to have developed any of 1-4. Affidavits sworn or affirmed by third parties would carry little weight with new marriages because there generally is little to observe about the "marital relationship" with the parties living in different countries.

These are the cases where relationship proof is critical at interview time. Generally this is accomplished by providing evidence of visits and continued regular written, phone or internet communication, and pictures.

Thanks for all the replies.

I got Married on Feb 10 2006 not 2007. It took very long for me to start the petition because i have been training with the US Air Force for the past year. Anyway, I had only sent my marriage certificate.

I hope it's not going to be too much of a hassle. i'm ready to send them anything if they send me an RFE.

Guess i'll just have to wait for it.. and now even longer coz of this..

Thanks everyone!

Along with the reg docs i included a copy of my lease where me and my wife have been living together at the same address for the past 2.8 years.

I would like to think my case would move quickly like some of you.

I have been married almost 3 years, we been living together for about 4 years now(2 different addresses(1st one was for 1 year and the 2nd..current one for 2.8yrs).

And we have both been to each others home country together(that is if they look at our passport records)

I WONDER if i sent Affidavits..if it would speed things along more??
