My wife had her K-3 interview last August and will do her CR-1 interview next week. She said the entire K-3 interview process was quite formal. All of her supporting documents were checked by a clerk first, then she waited for a half hour for her interview and the interview itself was quite short, mainly concerned with checking that her medical and supporting documents were complete and in order. Has anyone gone through both the K-3 and CR-1 interview process at the same embassy? Were they similar or do CR-1 interviews differ in intensity?

We were planning on going back to Taiwan anyhow so we thought this way would be easier.

I'd say good choice

Once your wife is done with the interview, she gets her GC sooner than she would have should you have opted for AOS IMHO.

I would guess having already done K3 the CR1 interview would be easier.

Best of luck to you!

I have no anwer for you...but we also are planning on going back for my husbands CR-1/IR-1 interview rather than adjusting in the USA. I was also wondering how the interviews differ. Please let us know, how things go. Did she get her medical done here or was her medical for her K-3 still good?

By time the interview is I am sure, he as well as myself, will be ready for a visit to his family and friends.

Wish you well on your interview.

Michele and Omer

OUR K-3 INTERVIEW WAS ON NOV. 1ST @ 10:00!!!

VISA APPROVED!!!

WE ARRIVE IN THE USA ON NOV. 10TH!!!

Hello,

I've done both since my K3 visa interview is only a month apart for the CR1 interview. Even the people at the embassy advise me to pursue the CR1. Basically, its all the same questions. But you must still prepare all the require docs for the CR1 interview even though you have send it to NVC. Since you've got your K3 visa I believe there will be no more problem.

And yes, its more convenient to pursue the CR1 instead of doing AOS.

Hope I was able to help you.
