Hey all,

I sent out my packet to Yassine on the 2nd of this month...He has still not recevied it yet! I am starting to panic a little!!! His interview is on April 4

I still have time to send another one (although it will cost me) through DHL in time for his interview but wanted to get some advice first...should I send out an additonal package or wait??? The first package of course has all the originals...I also sent and I134 with the first package...which i found out since that Casa no longer requires...so that means I no longer need the letter from my employer or bank or tax returns correct?

I am thinking maybe just to scan the info and have Yassine print it out over there since I am not going to have the orginal proof anyway? I don't know what do you all suggest!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you

Angela

I'm with Moody here! Don't you love the internet? That's how I got passport copies from my hubby. Anything else I'd send TO Morocco would get lost. I don't know if I should mail the package for his interview either (for whenever that happens).

Met online - May 2004

Met in person - August 2004

Got married - May 2005

Filed I-130 - July 2005

Filed I-129 - August 2005

Interview - February 2006 - 221(g) - still under investigation.

Another useless interview - July 2006 - got nowhere!

August 23, 2007 - he's finally here!

At the time the interview was coming, I mailed TWO packages (one with originals and one with copies) at the same time. The copies arrived first (after about thirty days...which is about normal for mail delivery to my husband's town). More than a week later (and a few days before the interview) the original arrived. It truly is a crazy mail system. I would scan the copies and have him print them. If you do that, by Murphy's Law, the originals should appear the next day. ;)

Since it was Morocco and we constantly have issue with the mail system there, I used DHL initially. He had the package I sent him in 2 days and it only cost about 140.00, it was well worth it. My package was a little larger so it cost me a little more, but the norm is about 85.00.

I would scan everything and email it to him. Even though Casa 'says' they do not require the I-134 and its supporting documents, be prepared with it, seriously...this is Casa we're talking about, and they can do anything they want including going back on their word regarding required documents, and they have done it before. I think you are better off being safe than sorry.

If the time gets so close and he does not receive your package, you can always send one DHL (2-day delivery) and include another original of the I-134 and its supporting documents.

Insh'allah he will get the package...meshi mushkil

Hi Angela,

My package got there 4-6 weeks after I sent it. AFTER he came back from Casablanca for his first interview, my package was at the post office. Don't worry about it, because they're so screwed up there, that he will probably be treated like the rest of us, which is to get denied, and make him come back more times, even if it is the biggest hardship for him. You really should read my last post and the responses so that you won't get your heart broken or take anything personally with the Casablanca Consulate. Definitely, do not spend that kind of money on DHL; I really think it will be a waste, but, you know, you must make your own decisions. I wish the two of you well, and much good luck, and, who knows, maybe he will get his visa the first time out. I hope so for you.

Much good wishes,

Carol

My fiance lives in a place in Morocco that is difficult to get mail to. I sent him the first package for the interview through the post office (who then works with Fed ex) and usually takes 10 days. When it seemed to be 'lost" somewhere in customs in Casa, I paniced and sent a second package through Fed-ex directly which promised to get there in 1 week. My first package surfaced and arrived one day before the fed-ex one. (total cost for both packages $150).

Scanning the documents and emailing them is best esp for things like phone records. He might have trouble downloading large files on a slw computer in Morocco so just send several emails with small attachments. Good luck!
