I had my interview and everything went well, visa approved.....the only thing I will have to send in again is the evidence of support ( we only had one from the "sponsor" ), anyways, this interview was 3 weeks ago, we still havent sent in the form. The question is, will they cancel the visa automatically after a certain time?!

I dont know why we need another one. we had one from his dad and we thought thats ok..... I dont have the visa issued yet-its just approved. they said they would send it to me once they get the evidence of support. so my question is will they cancel it after a certain time.

I do not know how long/if/what/when they cancel or anything.

But I had the request for extra evidence of support at the embassy also. However, I got my fiance to fed ex it to me and I had it in to them about 4 days later and had the visa and passport back within the week. The visa wasn't actually issued untill they mailed it, the date of issurance was once they had the paperwork they wanted, so technically you don't actually even have a valid visa yet.

I would just advise getting to them whatever it is they want ASAP.

Why do they ask for extra evidence?

your fiance income wasn't enough? did it fall under the poverty guide line?

They just weren't happy with the evidence of that we submitted with the co-sponser, they decided they wanted more tax returns and stuff, but it wasn't a big deal.

well, no, his dad filled it out and he´s a doctor. so we thought thats ok. they told me, my fiancee had to fill out one too, but he´s a student, what I told them....so...I dont know why the actually need it, cause he will be definitly under poverty line. but the officer told me the visa is approved though.

They told me I was approved also - aslong as I sent them what they wanted.

My then fiance is also a full time student and didn't make near the poverty lines - but they still HAVE to fill out the form too, because hes going to be your spouse, there for primarily responsible for you, if they don't make enough, thats what co-sponsers are there for. Just have him do the form.

My co-sponser made WAY above the poverty line, they just wanted some extra paperwork from them.

germanguest,

No visa has been issued yet, there is nothing to cancel.

There will not be any visa issued unless and until you provide the information they want. If you fail to provide the information they will eventually close the application file and send the petition back to USCIS for revocation.

germanguest,

Interesting information, thanks for posting it. Your experience with the consulate in Germany is opposite to some experiences people have had with the consulate in London - in London people have not been required to submit sponsorship information from the petitioner when another sponsor was offered because the petitioner did not qualify.

Perhaps in Germany the consulate wants to document that the petitioner does not qualify before accepting an alternate sponsor.
