MANILA INTERVIEW

Hi everyone!

Question again..... I've read in this forum that the APPOINTMENT LETTER and a VALID ID are needed in order to enter the US embassy.

What are examples of these VALID IDs?

My wife and I just got married and she does not have an ID that bears my last name. Anyone there who has experienced this, and what was done?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Well, of course she will need her Philippine Passport.

And then, she should have other documents that are needed for the interview. A marriage certificate should be among those documents.

Oh, and don't forget - cell phones are absolutely forbidden to even be taken to the U.S. Embassy.

Of course she won't have her passport. It was taken during the medical and is already inside the consulate.

I recommend ID in her maiden name + marriage document.

Thats a new one on me, why would they take it at the medical, it is needed to get past security and into the Embassy? They did not do that in China, all the other documentation was sealed up by the medical people, but my fiancee kept the passport fo just that reason. Edited by YuAndDan

That's the way they do it in Manila. I usually restrict my responses concerning consulates to Manila since each consulate has their own way of conducting business.

In the Manila Embassy Thread, it has been recommended that everyone make a copy of their passport prior to their Medical at St Lukes. St Lukes takes the passport and forwards it back to the Embassy for the interview, hence the medical appointment one week prior to the appointment. Other forms of IDF are the voter's ID, NBI clearance has her photo on it as well, school IDs...ect. Any photo ID with a her appointment letter will get her in the embassy annex grounds. Ken & Maria
