I-130 @VSC- really confused HELPPPP!!!

Hi,

I am new to this site and wanted to ask a few questions coz people here seem to tell more than the USCIS representative.

I am a US citizen and i filed the i-130 for my husband and i got NOA1 dated sep 5,2006 and I have not recieved anything since. No touches or anything on the case satus online either. It just says "case recieved and pending". My husband is a pakistani citizen but has been living in the uk for the past 5 years. I am confused as to why its taking so long? I have read some topics here and people that filed after me have been approved. I never filed for the k-3 becoz i just didnt know much about it at that time. Should I file for it now? How long does it usually take to process? I am getting fed up with living apart from my husband for so long. I called up the USCIS and they said that the processing just depends on their "application volume" and they have been showing March 12,2006 on their website since oct 2006. Should I contact vermont service center directly. I am really confused. It's gonna be 7 months soon and I am really getting frustrated. I need some guidance plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

There is no way to contact a service center directly only can call the National Customer Service number 1-800-375-5283

The only thing that causes VSC to hang like that is a lengthy name-check, VSC is a very quick center.

You could file for K-3, but who knows it too may get caught up in the system as the I-130.

You are a US Citizen, not LPR?

Hope it gets approved soon.

you cant say that VSC is a very quick center. times have change. changed a lot! i have a NOA1 from August 22nd and beside a touch in Sept nothing has happened. K1 might still be processed fast, but the CR1 definitely isnt anymore.

You can see What is GOING ON with VSC , What on earth is going on with Vermont??!!. Here you will see that you are not along. We are in the same boat.

Also you can make an appointment with InfoPass . Sometimes it will helpfull. Good luck.
