Moving from Colorado to Texas - Help with I-751

Hello,

We are moving from Colorado to Texas in May (2007). This means changing service centers (from Nebraska to Texas). My wife will file AR-11 and call 1800-375-5283 within 10 days of establishing residency. I will file I-865 to the Texas Service Center. My wife needs to file I-751 (petition to remove conditions) in November (2007) to the Texas Service Center.

My question is: Will the Texas Service Center have access to our previously approved cases? Or do we need to ask our local Denver office and the Nebraska Service Center that handled all of our previously approved petitions (I-485, I-864 etc) to forward our files to the Texas Service Center?

Has anyone experienced any problems in changing Service Centers? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I don't see any reason why your wife need to file a AR-11(change of address) if she don't have any pending case to the Homeland Security. She will file her I-751 on November this year, by then you're both in Texas which she will file her I-751 under the jurisdiction of Texas USCIS. The USCIS in Texas can get your wife record from Nebraska through her A# where she get her GC (conditional).

I did sent AR-11 while I'm still in the process of AOS. My husband and I moved here in California from Alabama. I was under Texas jurisdiction that time. I wrote and requested to them to re-schedule my appointment of AOS interview here in California and everything went fine.

The alien must ALWAYS file an AR-11 when moving. (Walls1010 is thinking of the address change, which is only filed if there is an application pending, but is not the same as the AR-11. Silbernagel is correct here.)

Yes, they will have access to your file. There is only one file (when they talk about your "A file," it is indeed a single folder containing everything relating to you; I've seen several) and it will be ordered out of storage by whatever office gets your next application.

No problems yet for us, we moved from New Jersey (Vermont/Newark) to New Mexico (Texas/Albuquerque), although the I-751 is still pending.

Your file is currently in deep storage in MO. When you file I-751, wherever you file it to, the file will be called up and reunited with the new petition.

If you have to move, this is the "best" time to do so.
