Do arabic docs for Cairo packet 3 need to be translated to English?

No, sorta trying not to since I've already emailed them 3 times.

I re-read the packet 3 info. It doesn't specifically request translated copies. I would email the embassy just to be on the safe side. Moh had all his documents translated.

I am not a Ciaro expert, but better safe then sorry. Translating in MENA generally costs very little...and even here translation cost about 10$ so...like I said better safe then sorry.

I'm not sure but I think it cost my hubby about 100 pounds when all was said and done to get our marriage certificate translated so I think it's a bit expensive in Egypt. That's why I had asked this question a month or two ago since between the money and the time it takes to get it done it's just a pain.

I am getting a bit annoyed & worried......when are all of those who have interviewed & been on AP since november going to get there visas????? this is ridiculous.....especially for those who know that the checks have been cleared.

That's for the marriage cert., Doodle. Other docs aren't as expensive/time consuming to have translated. Moh had his stuff translated same day. Even the marriage cert. was done same day for that matter. It was certifying the translation that took so long and made it expensive.

I would get them done. You will need some things for AOS and they will need to be translated.

My fiance didn't get any documents translated... I remember specifically reading in the instructions it said that the documents needed to be either in English or in the country's native language...and since all were in English or Arabic, we didn't get any translated, and things went smoothly.

He did mention to me that almost everyone he saw the day of his interview had their stuff translated haha...

So the police report, etc. won't have to be certified after being translated? I'm confused.

I believe you are quite correct -- each consulate accepts documents in English or in the official language(s) of that particular country. The instructions clearly state that.

I would advise confirming this from the consulate's website, or by email or phone call. But I believe this is protocol for all the consulates.
