guys,

if i was an exchange student in the US when I was 17/18 for a year do I need a US police certificate to? If i do any idea how i can get it?

No... A part of the standard process is a name check in the US databases so it is not required.

I guess like fwaguy said it is a different situation for the US cause they automatically check their records, but I do know that for all other countries that you have lived in for over 6 months you do have to get a police check for every country.

My fiancee has lived in Australia (he's australian) and the UK for over 6 months, so we had to get both. What a pain!
