 MY FRIENDS ON VJ. AFTER 13 MONTHS IN THE PHILIPPINES JUDICIAL SYSTEM WE ARE GETTING CLOSE TO ACTION ON RELYN'S ANNULMENT.

WERE BOTH VERY ANXIOUS AND A BIT.....WOW WHATS THE WORD. THERES TOO MANY. ITS VERY SCARY. WE HAVE WAITED SO LONG JUST TO BE ABLE TO FILE FOR THE VISA THAT THIS IS A MONUMENTAL MOMENT FOR US.

I WANT TO ASK FOR YOUR THOUGHTS TO OCCASIONALY BE WITH US. RELYN GOES TO THE ATTORNEY MON FOR REVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT. ON MARCH 12,19,26 SHE HAS HEARINGS SCHEDULED. I ARRIVE APRIL 19. IM PRAYING THE FIRST THING SHE CAN HAND ME IS THE PAPER THAT ALLOWS US TO BEGIN K-1 PROCESS.

ANYONE WHO WOULD CARE TO GIVE RELYN A " GO GIRL " COMMENT I WOULD LOVE IT! HER EMAIL IS RELYN_NARCISO@YAHOO.COM

I DONT KNOW HOW EMOTIONAL IT WILL BE FOR US WHEN THAT ANNULMENT IS FINAL BUT I FEEL IT WILL BE VERY INTENSE.

THANKS TO ALL,

PATRICK

It took my fiancee for her to get an annulment over two years. But once she got the papers it was an awesome feeling! We are now waiting for the NVC to send our case to Manila.

LuzyC is right there is more to expect after the hearings.Just hang in there because it is well worth the wait. And when you get started on the K-1 visa more and more waiting. So just hold on.Good luck!

11/24/06 I-129F mailed

Just wanted to echo what the others said....

I will respond first with a disclaimer that obviously I don't know your situation and everyone's is different. Having said that I just wanted to tell you about my fiance's experience in getting a marriage annulment granted in the Philippines. Her lawyer filed the papers in March 2005 and the hearings were held fairly quickly after that. I think by the end of 6 months, all of the hearings were done. Then the waiting began. She did not get her annulment granted for another year after her hearings. Part of that was because the court did not tell her she needed to have her daughter evaluated by the Social Worker there, but that was maybe only a month's delay. It just really seemed to drag on...even after the hearings were done.

I know in our process, even after the hearings with the judge, the case had to be sent to the Solicitor General for review and comment. There was a waiting period of 30 days for that and that was after the hearings. I can only assume that yours will be similar. Then it came back to the court for the judges approval....more waiting. Then papers had to be typed up....more waiting. Then we were put into a queue of cases for final review and judges signature.....yup, more waiting.

I guess what I am trying to say is that while I am glad you are optimistic, I hope also you are realistic. I can't count how many times we thought, "OMG! This is it....its finally done!", only to be disappointed by another legal delay. The Philippine courts seem to work very slowly. I pray you do have a speedy resolution following your hearings as I know its a very taxing experience. Been there and done that! Just realize that it may take longer than you are anticipating.

Tell your fiance to follow-up with the court and her attorney a lot if that is possible. My fiance's mother did so religiously and I think that helped. I think we had a good attorney too that worked hard to speed things along....even if I was frustrated at the time it took.

Best of luck to you in the annulment process on your way to filing the petition. I pray your situation will go quickly for you as I know exactly how you feel. God bless!
