What did you plan for the arrival of your SO? What are you planning for the arrival of your SO? Did you purchase gifts for your home? Did you purchase gifts to take to the airport?

My gift to him will include...deodorant, razors, shaving cream, underwear and socks.

That was what I did!

I remember being sooooooo happy shopping for all of that stuff at CVS. Never been so excited to buy shaving cream.

Everytime I go to Target I look at the men's toiletries but I'm not buying anything until the visa is in his hand. I'm just way too superstitious. Question...what are the best razors and deodorant for men? It's been way too long since I've had to buy that stuff.

Moody-that makes a lot of sense. I won't start doing things until after the visa is in hand.

I have started doing smaller things like organizing my basement and cleaning my closet. That stuff I've been meaning to do for awhile anyways. I started that last week after security checks were cleared. I know it'll still be another couple months before he gets the visa so I'm holding out on the other stuff.

I think "Bic" is what they use in Morocco, single blade. So anything that's better then that is good. For shaving cream - my husband was using SOAP!!! So, next time I went there I made sure I got him enough and I've sent him some in a tube, since I wasn't sure if it's going to make it by plane.

"Old Spice" and "Addidas" are pretty good ones, I took a lot of "Addidas" for gifts and stuff. My ex loved "Gilette", so now I'm avoiding them and all of his favorite colognes! I also got some cotton A-shirts, socks and "Suave" shower gel for men. I wanted to get more stuff, but then his visa was denied, so now I'm waiting for the right moment.

I'm sure, he'll have fun going to the stores and picking stuff by himself accompanied by me, of course! We went to lots of stores over there and surprisingly, he wasn't like other men, bored by shopping! I have two weeks vacation time and I'm keeping it for when he comes over, inshallah, for SS office, shopping and stuff like that! Should be fun! I hope soon!!!!

Also, I have to clear his part of the room (closets and drawers) for his stuff! Too much to do, so little time!

Hey all, my fiancee gets here in a week so I love these kinds of threads. I made my fiancee a little welcome basket as suggested before on these boards...It has a razor and shaving cream pack from Target, Deodarant, a French-English dictionary, a cell phone (it was only 14.99 at Target - one of those ones that you buy the cards to add on minutes), chocolates, and printed out this guide from the USCIS website in French

http://149.101.23.2/graphics/citizenship/w...nline%20Version

I also did some little things on the computer, like downloading lots of pictures from Algeria and making a slide show. I sent him filled out copies of the I-94 and Immigration form so he can just copy them on the plane. Also tried to do as much as possible of the AOS forms so that I won't have to waste time with them when he's here. I found him a free English class at the library that he can start right away. This weekend its lots of cleaning and laundry then just waiting for next Friday to come.
