Hi,

Just wanna know what's the next step ?

1.) Just rcvd the letter from NVC saying I129-F has been approved and papers will be sent to consulate in India

2.) Also, rcvd letter from INS saying I-130 has been approved and will forward the paperwork to NVC.

I'm just not sure what to do next. Also, if I go through K3, then what are the next steps if I decide to pursue further process in US.

Thanks for your help.

Firstly congrats on your approvals.

Well its down to you but it looks like the K3 is your best bet if you want to be reunited faster so I would wait for the embassy in India to send your other half the forms so that they can complete the process and issue the interview date.

I have just recieved my K3 and we will be adjusting for status once we get there next week.

We are doing it this way because my son will be starting school in NY the week we get there and I dont want to have to drag him back to England for his I-130 interview.

All you have to do to AOS is to fill in the forms for the acctual process plus the one for the work permit.

With the I-130 you still have a way to go as the NVC will want your spouse to send back the choice f agent form and then they will issue you with the bills for them to continue the porcess (can take an extra couple of months for them to do that)

here is a world of information on the guides at the top of this page read them as they will tell you everything you need to know as will other VJ'ers who have done the AOS once in the states

Take care and Good luck

Donna

Donna, thanks for the info. If I go through AOS route, does my wife needs to appear for the interview in US at local INS office ? Also, I fall into California Service Center, so if anybody can share there experience with having AOS process with CSC then would appreciate it.

Thanks !!!

I Live in California Myself. The USCIS took away the local service centers abilities to do AOS I think about a year ago. All AOS are initially sent to Chicago lock box. Though you will attend an AOS interview locally as in my case will be in April in San Jose Ca.

Well, My wife has studided in Russia for 6 years. Now, I did look at the guidelines and saw that she will require police clearnce from Russia as well as she was over 16 years when she stayd there. She has been in India for more than 3 years now.

Question is Does she still needs police clearance from Russia ? She doesn't have any current contacts in Russia, so should we approach Russian Consulate in India to get one or what ?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Do you mind sharing with us your timeline from when you submitted both your I-130 and your I-129F. I'm also out of the California Service Center (I-130) and it would interesting to see how quickly you received approvals. Especially in that they were almost both approved at the same time.

Thanks!
