For the I-129F intial submission, you do not need to show proof of an ongoing relationship, only that you have met in the last two years. However for the visa interview, you may have to show evidence of an ongoing relationship.

Thats basically what I was trying to say

The only meeting once thing? Hmm, I don't know, that really does vary.

For the I129 it's just have you met in the last 2 years. It's the interview that you need proof of an ongoing relationship. Switch to Vonage. I have records of any month on-line. Wow we spend a lot of time on the phone. :)

Yes, I know that, I've already submitted the 129. I'm speaking of for the interview.

Doesn't Vonage require an internet connection at both ends? He does not have internet access.

Well yes evidence is always good to have when needed but as I said I only sent proof we'd met and that we had a relationship.

Which, if asked, wouldn't that then in fact be enough to show proof of relationship at the interview if asked?

I wasn't asked for anything, which is good, he was more concerned about the finanical side, lol.

For the original OP, I just don't think its going to be a big deal about the phone record. Proof is good to have, indeed but phone records can be a pain to obtain it seems.

Thanks. I wonder if it is a problem that we have only seen each other one time. I have seen that mentioned as a problem for other people.

I doubt it will be a problem for you. It seems to raise suspicions only when the couple haven't been together for that long.

No Vonage is just like any other voip provider, including the one used by cablevision. Voice data is sent over the internet to a switching center where the call gets gets transfered to POTS (Plain Old Telephone System). Some voip providers offer discounts to call other customers because the call doesnt have to go over POTS and thus saves them money. Using certain Voip providers link lingo or SkypeIn, allows you to get a phone number in a forigen country (countries are limited however) making it a local call to receive a call from someone within the country.
