who writes the cover letter?

Hi all,

I was just looking at the example cover letter on this site and to my surprise it is written out of the perspective of the US citizen, not the GC holder. Did you all do it this way? I have written and signed the letter myself, considering that it is my greencard that bears the conditions that ought to be removed.

Am I wrong?

Any help is appreciated.

The filled out I-751 form is the central part of a joint application, and both spouses have to sign it. I don't think a cover letter is even necessary for a correct application. Then, who writes it would be up to you - anyone can (and I do agree that including a cover letter is helpful).

my husband, the USC, wrote ours but i wouldn't worry about it...

My hubby (USC) and I wrote our cover letter together -- I don't think it's important, but I found it was a good "checklist" to ensure that everything that needed to be sent was included. Good luck!

I agree that it doesn't really matter, since it isn't a requirement. I followed the example and wrote it myself, but again you will be fine! It will look nice and organized.

@crazieladybug: I'm waiting for a copy of a life insurance policy to be sent to me (had to call them a million times already in the past weeks and remind them to send it out, but nothing yet). Apart from that I got it all assembled and ready to mail. Can't wait. I hope to have it finally send out by next Monday.
