Just wondering if during the medicals do they do drug testing?

Not in the UK (when I went through there in July 2005) ... In some countries (such as West Indian countries) they do however....

I'm sure they have the power to randomly do a test if they suspect some dodgy. On your medical you are asked if you have taken drugs.

How do you know that they don't in the UK... It is definitely in their bag of tricks. In some places that have a history of widespread drug use, the drug test is a given.

I would plan on them testing. If they don't .. it won't make a difference, and if they do, then you were prepared.

How do you know that they don't in the UK... It is definitely in their bag of tricks. In some places that have a history of widespread drug use, the drug test is a given.

Hmm I was under the impression that the medicals in any country gave you a drugs test, as ive never taken any it is not a problem, I have seen peeps denied because they have failed a drugs test (not in the UK ) but that does not mean it cannot happen ...err on the side of caution. Do not take any drugs unless prescribed by your doctor.

Any particular reason you're worried about this?

It would make sense to do one I would think....but I dunno if they do or not (James isn't around for me to ask if they did one for him).

Yeah me too.. that was the one that first came to mind... I was trying to remember her name... Jackie I think...

It was Jaclyn... and the post that she put that refered to her fiancee getting denied has been removed for if you remember were obvious reasons.

Also, don't forget that most drug crimes are deportable offenses if they happen once the alien is stateside, whether AOS has been completed or not.

I asked James, they did a blood test in IRE that he thinks included a test for drugs

I would agree...who knows what they check for in your bloodtest.
