Ciudad Juarez is the only consulate processing fiance and spousal visas. Mexico City does not handle them (or any other consulate). Believe me, if Mexico City had been an option, we would have taken it. It's not a quick or inexpensive trip to CDJ for anyone! But you hopefully only have to go once, for the medical and interview!

I know what you mean Kat. Brazil is a huge country - same size as the continental U.S. - yet only the consulate in Rio deals with immigrant visas. My fiance lives way in the north and has to fly almost 4 hours to get to the south for the interview. He has his medical scheduled and then the interview - we'll return to the U.S. together after that.

Yup - it's a huge pain! CDJ is on the border so it's a long haul for most people and a horrible trip for people from the Yucatan. It will be amazing if Mexico City handled anything but they only process tourist visas and that's it!

This may sound like a really stupid question but they do speak spanish at CDJ correct?
