hELLO TO ALL VJ'S

I am the petitioner for my wife in Philippines for K-3 visa. My wife recently received the pre-interview notice(packet 3). Does anybody out there know if I-134 could also be submitted by anyone else other than the petitioner ? because I am still in college student without enough income, but my mom is fully willing to be the sponsor and submit I-134 for me.

Is there any one who has been approved by the Manila embassy using somebody else other than petitioner to submit I-134 ? or does any one have this knowledge on the Manila embassy's policy in this regard ?

THANKS,

Jacky Wang

What you are describing is a "Co-sponsor". Your mother would be the co-sponsor for you and your fiancee. She would complete a I-134 just like you, even though you do not have an income. The difference is that her income exceeds the Poverty guidelines. So together, two I-134s are submitted. And it works all the time. Do a search on "co-sponser" or "I-134". Many of the questions petitioners have asked the same question and have used a co-sponsor with great success.

Search specifically for advice on and interviews held at the Manila consulate. This consulate has anecdotal reports of 'unique requirements' for the I134.

Translation; Scuttlebutt has it that Manila does NOT allow co sponsors. Your mileage may vary, (actually I hope for your sake it does)

My husband and I are in the process of putting our papers together for my K3 visa petition while he is still here with me in Manila. Basically, we haven't submitted ANYTHING yet.

We are also facing somewhat a similar dilemma - my husband has no job, but he receives SSA benefits. His latest W2 and income tax returns are from 2003. We plan to submit with his bank statement ALL his W2s and income tax returns from the previous years he worked, just to show that my husband did work and isn't permanently on SSA benefits. Still we worry. In our case, my aunt, who is a US citizen, will be my husband's co-sponsor.

Also, my husband's friend, who is still in college, was able to petition her fiancé without any co-sponsor. With the I-134 AOS, she included a letter assuring the consular officer that her fiancé will not be a public charge, as she has someone (her grandfather) to co-sponsor and provide financial support for her and her fiancé once they get married in the US. My husband and I plan to do the same thing. He does intend to find a job as soon as he goes back to the US. It won't hurt to prepare one yourself. You'll never know.

If anything, kindly keep me posted about your petition. Thanks!

So a co-sponsor for AOS I-134 is possible for K3 petition? With what type of case?

Anybody else who can shed information regarding this matter? Will really appreciate the help. Thank you!

I promise to post my K3 timeline once my husband submits our I-130 :-)
