My medical is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

After reading through some AOS posts regarding vaccinations, etc. (and USCIS not always recognising that K1/K3 people have already had a full medical prior to AOS), is it possible to ask for a copy of the full medical (not just the vaccination worksheet) when picking up the sealed copy to have so I can submit that with AOS?

Has anyone asked for this before and successfully received a copy?

Yes you can ask Dr. Seidens office to give you two copies. This is also mentioned in the first letter you get from Montreal Consulate indicating your acceptance and listing the documents you need to gather. Just take that letter with you when you go for the medical.

My checklist is from Vancouver and I don't remember reading that about 2 copies (Vancouver has a different checklist than Montreal). But I will ask them tomorrow and hopefully I can use that when I AOS.

Well, got my medical done today and everything looks okay except one small thing... I might need to go back and do my stupid chest xray again. They didn't tell me I had to take out any body jewellery and I couldn't because I didn't have ring opening pliers with me. They sent the xray off to the lab to review for TB and the lab will determine if I need it done again (at my expense).

Medical ready to pick up (barring needing to do the xray again) Wednesday after 12 noon. I also asked for a certified copy of the medical which cost me $50.

Got there at 7:30 a.m. and was out of there by 9:15-ish. When I was waiting, I was chatting with a girl who turned out to be Laura0588.

Also we were talking to 2 women that were CR-1 applicants and their Montreal interviews are this week except that they never got a letter from NVC or Montreal stating their interview date. Their spouses were the ones that got the information for them... I thought they needed the letter to be able to get into the consulate?

Glad to hear your interview went well! I am gonna plan ahead for my medical in Vancouver. I have a question about vaccinations. Did you have to retake any shots?

I checked the USCIS website and they state the following:

Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are now required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the new vaccination requirement, or that it is medically inappropriate for the visa applicant to receive one or more of the listed vaccinations:

-- mumps

-- measles

-- rubella

-- polio

-- tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

-- pertussis

-- influenzae type b (Hib)

-- hepatitis B

-- varicella

-- pneumococcal and

-- influenza.

I'm pretty sure that I have 'most' of the shots done. However, I read somewhere a long time ago on JV saying that people have to retake the Tetanus shot because it was a long time ago when they had the shot. I had my shots when I was a kid so I don't know if I have to retake any of the above. Can you or anyone else shed some light? Thanks!

I got blood titres done by my family doctor to test for childhood immunity to Td and MMR and I was able to give a verbal declaration of Varicella (Chicken Pox). I have proof that I had childhood immunity to Td but I needed a booster and I apparently didn't have immunity to mumps, but I do to measles and rubella. So I ended up having to get an MMR anyway since the vaccine only comes in a combined form.

Thank you for your reply! I guess I'll also need a Td booster! Will gather up my proof and see what else I need.. I'm gonna bring the list to my family doctor and we'll go through them together.. hehe

I forgot to mention a few things which I think are funny in hindsight.

The woman who was filling out the medical forms was nice but was on autopilot. She was checking "no" to things even before I answered. I had to correct her when she asked if I'd had surgery before (she already checked "no"). I also brought in a lot of paperwork from my doctor including the lab results for my antibody titres. She didn't even look at them and just checked that I was up to date on all the required vaccinations!

Also the lab technician taking blood (she was nice) seemed a little scattered. She almost put someone else's identificaiton sticker on my vials of blood.

Just for that? What a rip off!

I paid $50 for a full certified copy of the medical complete with passport photo on it too. Provided I don't need another stupid chest xray (trust me I don't have TB!), I'll have the sealed copy and my 2nd copy tomorrow.

I can't believe they'd charge you for a copy of the vac supplement. It says right on it: "Give copy to applicant".

Picked up my medical and opened the copy I paid for. Everything normal and I didn't have to do another xray. I'm glad I paid for the extra copy of the full medical to ease my mind.

Also, they automatically gave me another copy of the vaccination worksheet. I think they give it to everyone.
