Are you happy with your job?

This may be moved to OT, but I was just curious about everyone in ME/NA since the daily threads have several thoughts expressed about job dissatisfaction.

Are you genuinely happy in your job?

I was just wondering if anyone is genuniely happy in their job, and if so what is it what you do, and what makes you so happy about it everyday?

Also what were you doing before your current job, and what changes did you make so that you would be happy going to work?

If you aren’t happy with your job, what job would make you look forward to going to work?

If you aren’t happy, why do you stay in a job that you aren’t happy with?

Personally, I have been in my occupation for 16 years. I never dreamed that this is what I'd be doing. It's a good occupation. For a few years now though I've been thinking about if this is really what I am meant to do and is this really what I want to do the rest of my life? The answer is always no. I have an idea about what I would like to do and what I would like to spend the rest of my life doing, but I haven't taken any major steps to moving in that direction. Mostly because of fear of the unknown I believe.

Any one else have these same thoughts and feelings?

Are you genuinely happy in your job?

I wouldn't say happy but content I guess.

I was just wondering if anyone is genuniely happy in their job, and if so what is it what you do, and what makes you so happy about it everyday?

I like the feeling of accomplishment I get after I do each task and the ego boost of knowing that I have a specialty that not many have.

Also what were you doing before your current job, and what changes did you make so that you would be happy going to work?

Well I'm staring a new/old job in a couple of weeks. Happiness going to work is purely due to the fact that usually my kids are arguing nonstop in the morning so finally I will get some peace and quiet.

If you aren’t happy with your job, what job would make you look forward to going to work?

I truly feel that i would be most content if I were to become royalty having the job of socializing at various spas with other royalty. That would make me look forward going to work.

If you aren’t happy, why do you stay in a job that you aren’t happy with?

my mortgage payment coupled with the habit my kids have of wanting to eat daily.

Are you genuinely happy in your job?

Not really happy but am content, and it has its moments.....also it is a pay check and keeps me out of trouble

I was just wondering if anyone is genuniely happy in their job, and if so what is it what you do, and what makes you so happy about it everyday?

The happiness I get form my job is: helping others who cannot help themselves, they paycheck, the job is very super easy and as I said keeps me out of trouble:lol:

Also what were you doing before your current job, and what changes did you make so that you would be happy going to work?

I used to be a book buyer for a major book retailer's Corporate Office. I loved that job, since I was doing what I love. And had great benefits. Worked with great people. Traveled alot. Learned alot. I didn't have to make many changes to going to that job. :( Left cos I went to Algerie. Unforunately the company policy would not allow me to stay off work that long without my leave being medically related. :( And if I were to go back, I would have to start from ground 0, something that would not be worth my while now.

If you aren’t happy with your job, what job would make you look forward to going to work?

Working for myself, having my own outreach office would be great...but not right now. Having other co-workers would be nice. Going to work is not difficult, I love to work and the job is super easy. And what motivates me is my responsiblities, my paycheck, fact I would be bored out of my mind at home, someone has to do the AOS and this job, all these harships are just a test from my God and a means to an end. :D

If you aren’t happy, why do you stay in a job that you aren’t happy with?

Cos I know it is a stepping stone. I have responsiblities that go beyond what I want and wish, I hate 'looking' for work, need the income proof for the AOS and I get to help people. :D
