ROFLMAO, omg my fiance does the same thing! One of his biggest concerns about coming here is finding a barber who does threading. for 1JD.....lol

LOL! I told my Dh that there will be none of that here! I was like this is ARKANSAS and you're lucky if you can find someone who will speak a form of English you even understand, let alone thread.

Actaully, he let me pluck it with tweezers and it was kind of fun! LOL! He made a lot of jokes about how maybe I would finish before one of us died...

Hahahahaha, well I did manage to find places that do threading out here but its done by women and that is a foreign concept to him at this point. He goes to the barber quite often too and its so cheap there so he can afford to do that. I don't if its gonna be that easy to go every week here.

I hate the word metrosexual, but it best describes what I am saying/asking. Metrosexual/übersexual...Do you know some ME/NA that take care of themselves, spends more then you on looking good ? or do you think it's not in the culture.... I am curious.

Yes I know many. I mean I hate to stereotype but Lebanese guys don't just walk out of the house looking that hot in a matter of 5 minutes

You will find lots of guys like this but in the major cities, not so much in the outskirts.

Ye, I see them everyone  Eyebrows more straight then mine.

Yeah you know its bad when the guy is giving you tips on how to tweeze your eyebrows  Henia have you heard of that Lebanese-Canadian singer...Massari? Iwould say he is metrosexual, LOL

He just made a new fan. I did not know they did it big like this in Canada. And my guy does the same thing. He never passes a mirror without looking it. But he will not pluck the hair aroun the eye.

my sister in law showed me how to do threading but when it came to try it i couldn't, so now I just pluck the strays from my husband's face. He's the same. sometimes he's clean shaven, then scruffy beard and then just a goatee, but never a full beard. i had my eyebrows threaded while I was there in Jordan they came out awesome and stayed that way for a while then it was back to plucking.

 We just had a little of this conversation last nite, his brother come to the cam, said hello. I told Ahmed,(jokeingly) tell him he is very nice looking man. Ahmed reply, yes we(brothers) all are. I told him that is not manners to say that of yourself. HE acknowledged he knew that and was only kidding. My reply was yea kidding sure, each time you pass the mirrow MANY times a day!!!! When i was there i mentioned that to him, and we already talked about using so much cologne. Told him here many dont like so much or are little alergic to so much.

My husband is the anti-metrosexual. Although he was proud to tell me last night that he got a haircut and shave yesterday and that he looked handsome...whateverrrrr. As JP was talking about...many of the Lebanese here are metros. I like a man to be a man. I don't want a man who's prettier than I am.

So we're all talking about Lebanese people huh ?

Here is my opinion : Lebanese people love to look good. Men, women, teens, children and even babies. It's all about how good you look, what your wearing, etc. My husband and I take about the same amount of time to get ready. When we were engaged it took me way longer because I had long hair and wore alot of makeup. Now that I am 8 months pregnant I have shoulder length hair (that I don't curl, just straighten) and just wear eyeshadow, eyeliner, and lip gloss. He has to shave his beard. It takes him forever cuz he will do something (a goatee for example) and will come say "Do you like it ?" My response is usually "No, you know how I like it". So he's back and forth. He wears real nice clothes and never just throws something on. He wears cologne and always has gel in his hair.

Is my husband meterosexual ? Hell no. He can careless about what I wear. Meterosexuals usually have an opinion when it comes to any type of fashion.

So if you are going to call a Lebanese guy a meterosexual you might as well call all of Lebanon a meterosexual. Go into any mosque, arab restraunt, etc. You will see the Lebanese people are the best dressed, look the best, and are very social. It's just in our culture. We spend alot of time on how we look and the clothes we wear.

Reunited and it feels so good ....

To me meterosexual men have always looked gay, acted gay, dressed gay ... but were straight.

Lebanese people do not look, act or dress gay.

Maybe I misunderstood ... but that's just what I have always thought.

I dont think Ahmed would ever go out without take care of what he looked like. He told me he had to come home shave, dress nicely and went to the bank. I asked why change "oh because this is the bank, and many know me there." Told him here people at the bank could care less what everyone has on. Also he can quote those namebrands off like they are going out of style and its a crime to not shave (because he looks very bad) he thinks! and the hair has to be so so even on the cam

Oh nooo that's not what I meant...sorry if you misunderstood. I just meant they take care of themselves so much that they're prettier and better looking than a woman..not gay. The guys here are def. not gay! They're just too good looking :)

He definitely takes longer to get ready than I do. I'm not sure why though. It's not like he does anything out of the ordinary. I think I'm just faster. Being a single mom of two girls with only one bathroom, I've learned to speed things up! lol. I do everything fast, I eat dinner fast, I get ready fast, I read fast, etc. When they're at their dad's I'm at the same speed but then I'm left sitting there thinking...why didn't I take my time..there's no one here asking me to do things for them. lol

As for the cologne, he sprays it all over himself. At first it was overwhelming but after the first two days I got used to it and now I miss it.:cry:

"Metro" doesn't mean effeminate. It's just a term coined a few years ago to describe the sort of guy who is straight, but would get a facial or a manicure or pay for an expensive hair wax. Taking care of your appearance was coded as gay for a while, hence the term, but metrosexual doesn't mean flamboyant.

Think a well-dressed trendy guy in Manhattan.

I would say that my husband is a moderate metrosexual because next to one of his brothers, who is a flaming metrosexual (not gay), and the other brother, who is a definite macho military guy, he falls inbetween them with ms traits.

No harm was meant. I used used the word metrosexual, since I could not come up with a better name. But I dislike this word anyway, sounds gay to me.
