All that was suggested here was a bit of DIY on the OP's part. I also don't think that comment was derived from the question in this thread alone, but from the multiple threads the OP has started, often about easy to research or minor points.

Ah, excuse me, but what is DIY? :luv::luv::luv:

I'm quite sure Gone was kidding.

I thought you were, too, Mae. DIY = do it yourself. I guess I thought that was a pretty common phrase. *shrug*

Not to butt in, but I don't understand the somewhat harsh replies some people have been leaving (and now I will probably get a reply saying that no one is being harsh). Yes, I am pretty new to this site so some of the people that have been on here forever probably won't like me saying anything about it, but we aren't all experts and sometimes it is hard to find what we are looking for, despite reseach on the site. I am sure everyone can remember when they first started this process how exciting and overwhelming it is. So, I would think if someone is annoyed that the OP is not being a DIYer they could just let someone else answer if it bothers them so much.

This is just my 2 cents and I hope this doesn't make me one of the bad guys now. This site is so helpful and a blessing, but I have to admit I am just waiting for someone to jump on me because of a new thread I may start.

We were very happy to get our NOA2, but three + weeks and no letter from NVC. I have called, got the new tracking number, and confirmed that our information has been sent to the Consolate, but still no letter. The person on the phone at the NVC was not incredibly helpful saying that if I had the tracking number I had all the information that I needed, and the letter could take up to a month to arrive. From looking at other peoples time-lines, it seems like most people get the letter quickly !

So, I just don't know....

Don't worry... I think many people never get the letter at all, and most who do get it long after the file has made its way through the NVC and to the consulate. I am pretty sure most of the people who fill in their NVC dates on their timelines do so by calling/emailing the NVC to find out if they've received/forwarded their approved petition yet. And as for the letter... I don't think it matters if you never receive it - you don't need it for anything, so if it never arrives (sounds very much like they don't always get round to sending them out - we haven't received one yet) I really don't think that's anything to worry about.
