Winter clothes are recommended there, just as here. It gets cold there this time of year! I wear fleece and a coat, and boots, even tho it doesn't snow in the lowlands. Our family has lots of quilts and blankets. On one visit, I took a comforter with me, and they loved it so much, I bought one for my in laws.

Good morning all. Woke up this morning to a nice snowy dust all over the ground. My bus was 20 min late, and I ended up being 10 min late to work. It's still freezing here! I guess it hasn't been over 20 in the past 4 days now. I'm tired of the cold! Bring on Spring!

We're leaving for Morocco in 9 days! I am getting nervous! But I am excited! I still don't know what I should pack. I don't know what i should leave in my house and what I should take to my dad's. I don't know what things to pack, how many paris of pants? How many shirts? Which shoes? Which coat and jacket? Should I pack an extra blanket just in case? Oh I have no idea what to expect! I'm afraid to take any of my electronics because I don't want them to get stolen or "confiscated". Anyway, I am sure I am freaking out for nothing and that by the end of the week I will have worried for nothing.

Well I hope you all have a good day! Stay warm!

Janine

I wonder if they have a washer and dryer in their house? I wonder if I should bring my razor or my Veet? Oh I have soo much to do in the next week I think I am going to go crazy!

Even in many high end homes, you'll see laundry flapping in the wind. Electricity costs are high there, and so many do laundry by hand or have a maid to do it by hand.

Lots of people go to the public baths, even if they have full baths. They use scubbing mitts that take off hair, but I take razors just in case I have an urge to shave.

Good Morning everyone !!!

For those VJ’rs who have been in New England for a few years … is today (wednesday) still “Prince Spaghetti Day” ?

didn't they rename that to the day formerly known as prince spaghetti? :P

My memory is getting old and faded so here is the story ...

Prince Spaghetti had an advertising campaign in the 70’s – 80’s where they called every Wednesday “Prince Spaghetti Day”. The commercials usually depicted a boy (Anthony) playing outside in the Boston North Side. His mother would start calling …. Anthony ….. Anthony …. He would hear her call, stop whatever he was doing and run home (cut to long running action scenes) to a nice hot plate of pasta. Okay commercial over …

Growing up in Southern New England lots of kids I knew referred to Wednesday as … you guessed it. And the weird part is, during business travel I’ll meet New England expats and we start talking about the northeast and invariably we mention Wednesdays …

Oh well, life can be strange.

Yes! You will need adapters for your electric appliances like blow dryers. I was surprised at how difficult they were to find in Rabat, so if you can find them here, take some with you.

Not only an adaptor but also a transformer that transforms the 220V down to 110V for your electrical appliances.

Not only an adaptor but also a transformer that transforms the 220V down to 110V for your electrical appliances.

Also, read the label(s) on your appliances. some may already be capable of 220 and 110 (dual voltage)

and a second adaptor might be nice to have. Call it a back-up. They don’t require much space in your baggage.

in case there is a problem with your target order, Radio Shack also carries adapters, transformers, etc.

I commited the cardinal sin of punching the snooze button this morning. Just didn't feel like jumping out of bed into that cold air so I could charge off down a dark freeway to sit here all day and shove numbers around. (Bet I'm just giving you goosebumps of excitement.) My darlin surprised me last night after work when I went to pick him up. He brought me a very decadent slice of chocolate cake with ice cream, hot fudge and caramel topping. He got an extra hug for that! The ultimate cure for PMS. The man is good...

Sure wish this was Friday.

Just wait two more days Jean..it will be Friday and I will be 2 more days closer to seeing my fiance so we will both be happy.

BTW: what did some of you cook for the first few days after the arrival of your SO? Keep it light or go all out?

Ok so I have to get an adapter? do the plugs there look the same as here? I had that problem while I was in Germany. different plug style. Anyway, I think I will need it for 3 things, my cell, my camera battery and my camcorder battery. I don't think I will bring any thing else, except my iPod, but I think I can just use their comp to charge it right? Their USBs are the same right? I mean they are called universal and all.

AFAIK Morocco has the same style plugs like Germany, 2 round things. (don't know the name, sorry)

That's why those world travel adapter are great, the usually provide different plugs for different countries!

Usually, most chargers (cell, cam and camcorder) work on the whole range 110V~220V. However, make sure (it says on them)- if they are, you won't need a transformer, just an adaptor to make the plug fit.
