VISA DENIED! PLZ HELP!!!

One of my friend had sponsored her husband for K3 visa. She's a US citizen and he's living in Pakistan. They rejected his visa and the basis of rejecting the visa is quite strange. See, according to Pakistani culture and religion it's permissible and quite normal for first cousins to get married. They are both first cousins from both maternal and paternal side. Now, after the interview the US immigration asked them to take a DNA test to prove they are not real brothers and sisters. The test came out as 15% or so of blood relation which they thought was fine and he was asked to come to the consulate again a few weeks after they received the DNA samples and when he went there they rejected his visa because they feel that they are related but not married. Now how should they go about appealing for this case? Does she write a letter to the congressman of her area? And if yes, then how should they go about doing that? She's very upset and any help in this regard would be appreciated.

There is a member on here that is an attorney...I would contacting him or an Immigration attorney in your area....his ID is Ellis Island....not sure if it's 2 words or 1---and look into contacting Kiya.....

well sorry about to denied your friend visa it happened with me also before a month and i am going with same situation as your freind but bit change......i got denied also in Islamabad my wife belongs from USA and U.S citizen.

Thanks for all your replies, I didn't even know that some states prohibit cousin marriages. Can anyone tell me how to find the congressmen of our area? I was searching online but any specific link if somebody has it would be very helpful. Also, if someone has ever contacted a congressman related to a visa rejection case, please reply back with info regarding how you went ahead with it and what kind of letter you wrote to the Congressman? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have them appeal it, have senator send a letter, there is alot of cousins married and livign in USA, Britain and the like. They could even appeal based on the 15% its not 80% and also the fact if embasy was doing thier job with the background checks they would know exactly who is who. Every now and then esp with this embassy they like to throw alot of road blocks up so as to have people give up.. Keep up the fight
