Packet 3 from Vancouver

Now that we've got our I-129F sent off, I'd like to work on the Packet 3 documentation so that we can get it on its way as soon as I receive Packet 3. From what I've read here, the contents of Packet 3 vary a bit depending on the embassy. The list for Vancouver is here (thanks whoever compiled that).

Just about everything is on that page except for the checklist itself. Is that list online anywhere? I searched but couldn't find it.

Also, if we know what the Packet 3 contents are, is it possible to send the Packet 3 package to the Vancouver embassy after we receive NOA2 but before Vancouver sends us Packet 3?

Thanks for your help. :)

You can't submit the checklist before the Packet gets to you. You have to check off all the boxes that apply to your situation, then you will have to forward the completed checklist to the Vancouver Embassy VIA fax if you want to get an interview date a bit faster (ie: a week or so for response).

As far as what is on the checklist well that can take a while to tell you. But basics include Canada wide police check, and a police check for any place outside of canada you lived in for at least 6 months. A copy of you long form birth certificate, Medical, US passport size photos, if you were married before you need copies of docs for that...I don't know specifics, and a few other documents that you have to print off line and fill out as well. So best to hang tight and wait for your packet 3. usually takes anywhere from 2-3 weeks to get it from the Embassy. After you fax the checklist you will likely have to wait a week for them to finally get you a confirmed interview date. Which they can email you and they will then send you your packet 4 which will have a letter stating when your interview date is for. KEEP THIS LETTER! You will need it to jump the line outside the Embassy the day of the interview in Vancouver..Best of Luck..

Here is scanned copy of the actual checklist I received from Vancouver (sorry, it's been marked). Please use this as a reference only as the checklist you receive might be a little different. And like CanuckmeetYank said, you can't send in the checklist before it gets to you. All you can do for now is get all the documents organized.

I will scan in all the other pages included in Packet 3 that I didn't put up in the embassy info section.

Thanks very much, CanuckmeetsYank and ajmc. This is exactly what I needed. I'm sure that it'll be useful to other VJers too. :)

For those who are interested, I found an example of Optional Form 167 (mentioned on the second page of the checklist).

All of the pages from Packet 3 (except the cover page) are now up in the Embassy Info Section, including OF-167! Click here.

I would've been so glad to have this information when I was in your shoes last year!
