Hi, I sent our packet from Poland on the 21st. Has anyone had experience with using a postal money order? There is a phone number to track it, but I don't know how I can see the number they put on the back...

I am feeling a little frustrated today, as I wanted to track the package, but I can't read the number the postal worker wrote on my receipt. I am gonna have to go there and ask...I am really worried about having sent it from Poland, but since it is my actual address (I am the USC), I didn't know what to do...

I am not actually sure when the package will get there, it was sent by airmail, but I did send a form for confirmation, but it's hard to say if I will get it back...

Sorry, I just needed a place to talk about my worries... :) Good luck to everyone who is filed in February.

Milena.

I sent our packet out on the 20th , also using a USPS money order. You can use the receipt they gave you for delivery conformation, but you say it has been damaged . As far as the phone number on the back , I know here in the US the first step is to go back to the post office and ask them for a form for the purpose of tracking the money order, but it will cost you. How much, I don't know. I surmise that that phone # on the back is used only after one obtains the form and pays the fee. If it makes you feel better, I'm still waiting for the NOA-1. It would'nt hurt to go back to the post office and inquire if you need that peace of mind.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Milenka,

I sent our package from out of the country also. I paid the extra money to have it sent 4-5 day express (the quickest available here). However, it took two full weeks to get there. But it did get there. I know it's a little more nerve wracking when it is a money order inside That is how we sent our payment also. But think positive and I'm sure it will get there soon. I know it was torture waiting for ours to be delivered. I still have not received an NOA1, but at least I know it got there!

Good Luck,

Sue

I just figured out where my case number is on the back of my check! Score! Now I don't have to wait for the NOA1 notice to arrive via NY's ridiculously slow postal service (it's not their fault, they're so overworked . . . )

Also, I got my first "touch," which I'm guessing was probably the note that my check cleared and they can start working on my case. Woohoo! Now we're really in business :)

I also got my NOA1, the receipt date say February 27, 2007. I purposely didn't check the mail yesterday (an attempt at not being too obsessive this early in the game) but I couldn't resist today and there it was! Yay! Now its on to the longer wait for the NOA2...bring it on!

The same thing is hapenning to me. There's another thread further down the board about this. It looks like the USCIS site is temporarily down, probably for "site maintenance". I'll be checking in the morning, hopefully it will work.
