I just asked this question today-I believe you send in ds230 pt.1, I don't think you have to worry about pt.2 yet, that is handed in at the interview.

Others will tell you for sure

Which embassy? You do not say and your timeline is also empty. Will photo copies be accepted????? Have you called the embassy?

Just what I was going to say, we need to know what Embassy in order to even have an idea (should a member be familiar with it) of what you should do. I would not think that photocopies are acceptable, they would want original signatures. DEFINITELY call your Embassy and ask!

Since I don't know what Embassy I can't say for sure, but I do know that the London Embassy does not require DS230 part 2 until the actual interview, I think this is similar across Embassies BUT I don't know for sure, so don't take my word on it at all. You need to call your Embassy and ask or let us know what Embassy you are going through in case one of us might know.

This does not apply to all Embassies, some require a lot more than just a DS230 and a checklist!!!! London requires DS230 pt 1, DS 156, DS 156K, DS 157 (for males) and the checklist, so that means that these things obviously vary from Embassy to Embassy. You need to be sure what you are saying can apply to all Embassies or else you will only confuse the OP and could end up hurting their visa process should they think what you said applies to them when in fact it does not.

Oh no I'm not railing at you, you at least made a disclaimer that you weren't sure! I've just noticed that pri tends to give information out a lot in similar posts that aren't accurate, they may apply to his/her case but would possibly not to the OP, and this is something we need to be careful about as it would be really bad to mislead users on here and end up harming their process. I'm not saying I know everything of course, that's why I almost always say call the Embassy to be sure!

Oh I know-I just felt bad-God knows I don't want to confuse anyone(this process is confusing enough). I always put a disclaimer-it saves me if I am wrong ;)

If what you returned to the embassy as instructed on your packet 3 and such has been lost, I would be extremely surprised if they accepted a resubmittion of photo copies especially anything that requires original signature. A better solution would either have them resend you the forms, or download them and fill them out again. Unless of course you have been instructed differently by the embassy????

I've just noticed in the past you've made posts that were applicable to your case but may not be to others, I'm not gonna go look them up though, just an observation. The process is not all the same for everyone when it comes to the Embassy stage, each Embassy has different requirements and forms to be submitted and at different times and stages in the process. So, what you had to do for your Embassy may not be true for someone at a different Embassy.
