My #######-retentiveness is coming through right now!

So the pictures of the boy and I must be not more than thirty days old. We had them taken on January 5 and the VSC won't receive my packet until the 7th of February if I mail it on Monday.

Will this present a problem?

I left Mexico on the 6th, so I can't fudge it that way, since my boarding pass is also going to be submitted as proof of our having met recently.

Should I date his picture after I came back to the States and safely think that they'll assume he Fed-Exed me his picture?

Calmate amiga - they have no way of knowing when the photo was taken so date it within 30 days prior to mailing the petition!

Thanks so much, kit kat. I'm not usually this neurotic!! Well, maybe that's not completely true. :)

BTW, anyone want to take a gander at my "how we met" statement to let me know if there's anything I can cut?

In October 2000, I (the petitioner) arrived in Edgar’s village, Chichimila, Yucatan, Mexico, to do field work for my bachelor’s degree. We were neighbors for my five months in the village, and I ate and bathed in Edgar’s family’s house daily throughout my stay in Chichimila. I returned to the United States to write my thesis about the village, and from March 2001 to August 2001, we kept in touch via phone calls and emails. In August 2001, I moved to Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico and Edgar later moved from Chichimila to join me in Cancun. We lived together in Cancun from December 2001 to September 2005. From September 2005 to the present time, I visited Edgar in Cancun on three occasions: in December 2005, August 2006, and December 2006, returning to the States in early January. While I have been in the States, from September 2005 until the present, we have communicated via cell phone text messages and phone calls.

Your statement looks good to me!

Don't worry - we all get neurotic at the start of the process - at least I did!
