I think you can only get a greencard after being in the US for 2 weeks (that's when you're in their system) but you can get married as soon as you have your marriage certificate. congratulations & good luck!

Yes, your fiance can get a SSN once s/he arrives - with the automated I-94 system, many have reported there is no need to wait the full 2 weeks before applying. You do not have to be married before applying for a SSN.

I think you can only get a greencard after being in the US for 2 weeks (that's when you're in their system) but you can get married as soon as you have your marriage certificate. congratulations & good luck!

I meant SocialSecurityCard .... I'm sooo not a morning person & these late nights at work uuugh, sorrryy I wont write when Im dirt tired no more x)

my husband applied for his the Monday after he arrived here from Ireland (the previous Friday night). He was in the system, and had his SSN within the week. We also happened to marry that day, but I think that's irrelevant. His passport was all he took to the office.

05/31/2017 - biometrics appt (Oxnard, CA)

06/19/2018 - ROC still pending with no news but that wonky glitch back in February, so we went ahead and filed for citizenship
