Does it really take 60 days to process Affidavit of Support and IV documents?

Hi Everyone,

I recently submitted my affidavit of support documents, and my husband submitted the IV supporting documents.

We received emails stating that the affidavit of support docs and IV docs have been received, but both emails say that it will take at least 60 days to process them.

Just wondering--is that their standard response? Is it really going to take that long? I'm sure many of you can relate, I'm just so frustrated by all the delays. I just want to know WHEN we will be able to move to the states. Originally we wanted to go in October, but obviously that's not going to happen. Now we're hoping we can go in February. So my fingers are crossed that we will get to the interview before the end of the year.

thank your for your replay i have since my wife my and my 3 children's documents to them and by the 8 of october it will be 60 days , i just call them today to see where we are now there have told me that there are still review documents so i do not know anymore but we will see.

From what I have seen here there is a large back log at the NVC and it can take up to 60days to get your answer.

It can, ours took longer than 60 days (just). When we called after 2 months they said could be 60 business days

It's not that its taking 60 days to review documents its taking them at least 60 days to get to your files and review and accept. They are very backlogged and they are also trying to improve processes and implement new processes.

Everyone at NVC got this letter starting in August.

I got it also, I submit my AOS right before labor day, and got the notice a week later.

Now I just submit IV package.

I guess it is just the bad timing for us.
