Good morning everyone.

We just recieved our case number from the NVC.

Just a couple of questions

1) Does my wife who is the USC petitioner living with me in Canada have to a police background check or is that only for me? She has been living here for 3 years.

2) I understand it is not advisable, but can we send in the documents upon receiving them? For instance, I had to order my long form birth certificate which takes 4 weeks and we haven't received it, should I wait until everything is received or send in as they arrive?

Good morning all I have a question for all that have sent in the IV package...I am the petitioner and I am a us citizen. My husband lives in Jamaica. We are currently waiting for nvc to assign our file with a case number. They received our case on oct 1,14. Since it appears that we will need to send my husband in passport, his birth certificate and police clearance, im trying to see how I can get these items to the Nvc w/out much delay since he has them and if he has to send them from jamaica, it will take weeks for nvc to get them. Im assuming all these docs will need to be originals. Im just confuse as to how we can get these documents to them w/in a one day turnaround time. He has all these docs right now except police clearance. He should have that by Nov 1. How was everyone able to send their iv package so quickly?

Read this http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process . You have time. I collected all of our documents and then sent them in via USPS. All arrived next day without issue.

This is an email I received today from NVC:

09-OCT-14

Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

Sincerely,

Director

National Visa Center.

Does this mean case complete is soon? I hope!! ?

You sent in IV package on Aug. 23rd. When did NVC say that they received the package? Just trying to find out your scan date. Thanks.

I called NVC and now I have been told that I only received a checklist for the court certificate that is missing. Aos package was not reviewed yet and that's why it showed up as a checklist....the girl I talked to yesterday was wrong.....well at least its not lost...I asked when are you going to review the aos package she said by the 19th. I asked could we take the court certificate with us to the interview she said no. I asked to speak to a supervisor she said all were currently busy but one is going to call me back...haven't received acall so far.

Hello everyone. I recently received my NOA2 on October 1st 2014. I just wanted to know how long before NVC will issue a case number?

Hi!

It depends...it can take up to 5 weeks for NVC to receive your file from USCIS if do recall correctly. Once NVC receive your case it would take 2weekds or so.

Good luck with NVC...it's a serious challenge!

Advice: You better read Saylin's Wiki about the NVC process...very well done and helpful. you'll find it on the 1st post of this thread.

If you closely follow it hopefully you'll get a CC iwithin the time..No checklists!

According to the emails they sent to many of us.. do not expect your AOS checklist to be reviewed before the 60 days...in your case Nov 24th (start counting from your scan date : Sept 26th).

If your IV package has a later date that your AOS checklist...start counting 60 days from your IV package scan date since they review both packages at the same time on your last scan date.

I started in Dec 2013..almost a year now.

Keep faith even it's hard...Your nightmare shall be over soon Inshallah and ours as well hopefully!

May be we'll meet up in Casablanca for the interview...which is improbable since your scan dates are way before mine but not impossible regarding how they treat our cases!

Best of luck!

Quick update on my case: In August I sent in my AOS packet, but after three days I realized I made a mistake and sent a corrected i-864EZ (I put AGI instead of total income on the first form). Opps. I talked to an operator who said to submit just the corrected form which I did and had a scan date of a few days later (8/13).

On Monday, I talked to an operator who told me that both packets had been reviewed and accepted! Woohoo!

I then got a checklist yesterday for having the wrong number on line 19 of I-864EZ. I called because I thought it was a false checklist (since I was told a few days earlier that it was approved already). Operator Yvette told me no--both packets had been reviewed, but the checklist was real and I was supposed to resubmit the form. I asked for a supervisor to review it and she said it might take up to 42 days.

Today I spoke with Supervisor Mari and she said now that only my first piece of mail had been reviewed--not the second. This could be good news, but I'm annoyed because 1) the first operator already told me that it was approved, 2) everyone until Mari told me that both pieces of mail had been approved, and 2) I'm really supposed to wait 42 more days for a review, on top of the 60 that I've already waited, and then 60 more after I resubmit the form if they lost it???

Anyway, she's pulling my files to review the case herself within the next week. Let's pray something happens.

OMG this can be real! This is a real brainteaser how NVC review these pacakges! Some of us are told that they review both packages at the same time others don't.

I personally no longer know which Saint to turn to..please NVC get your story straight for God's sake!

Anyone called them recently and heared the same version?

Thanks in advance for sharing!
