Yeah, you're better off having more time getting all the loose ends tied up in the UK before making the big move during that month! Yes we did. We weren't as bad off as another UK filer, but we were scheduled almost 2 months out from our CC which seemed ridiculous compared to other timelines at the time, so after pushing them twice, they finally gave us an earlier date that put us at almost 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks from CC.

I hear that the London Embassy is run very well and efficient. I would have tired to bring your date forward as well. I'm glad i worked out for you.

Oh yeah, that part of this process was the easiest! The waiting in between the date assignment and the actual interview day was harder, but this month will fly past, you'll see! :) And thanks! We were surprised with the new date in the post since they hadn't notified us by e-mail until after we already received the hardcopy letter confirming the new date.

Did you fill out the form via the website and then you got a letter in the post vs email? Wow, I bet you were in shock too! I'm in Wisconsin and my hubby is in the UK, and today he received the Interview Letter via the post.

Yes! That was the weird thing. We had been corresponding with them via e-mail, but they didn't say anything for a while so we gave up on it until he received the IL in the post in the UK. Did you not receive the IL e-mail? We got the original IL via e-mail and the rescheduled IL in the post. The date was postmarked a day or two after our second e-mail chain with them.

Ok cool! I wonder if that's always the case. I thought we got a hardcopy due to the rescheduling. Oh yeah! You can now say it's less than a month (due to the interview time)! :D

Hi VJ members, just received the Interview letter :) and still can't figure it out what those codes are for? I thought this letter will help me to know what actually need to bring at the interview but I got totally lost :(

in one paragraph it says:

- "Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of

Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal
income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview."
I don't get this, do I need to bring my husband's most recent 1040 or what? We don't have joint sponsor and we filled out I- 864 form and sent to NVC! What my husband need to send me, if he needs?
I can't figure it out what those codes mean? I don't know if I need to bring my civil documents, Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate....

There should be a key on one of the pages explaining what each of the letters or symbols listed next to your items signify. This is very important to figure out whether they have everything they need or if you need to provide them with the documentation they ask for.

Also, I think that paragraph is generic and on every IL, so if your hubby hasn't updated his taxes since filing, then you're fine and don't necessarily need to bring a copy of the return, unless you want to have a copy just in case (most of the time it's not necessary).

I'm 99% certain my file is in the one signed by James today along with Cathy and a couple of others here.

We should get "Ready" on Monday :D

My medical is also on Monday and I'm hoping everything goes well. Trying to get blood out of my arm is a chore and a half. Makes me wonder how I get blood around my body... well, better begin drinking copious amounts of water all through the weekend.

Oh, I also got my interview letter today at about 6 in the morning :)

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I can barely lift my left arm!:rofl::rofl:

I wish I were the petitioner! It'd be a lot easier to be the petitioner if I had a choice.:rofl::rofl:

The petitioner doesn't have to take the medical exam (blood test and vaccinations - lots of shots)!

needle%20phobia.jpg

I always wonder what is the need for the shots. I mean student Visa, visitor visa don;t need medical they could have all manner of disease and such and come. A k1 can waive getting shots at medical and get them done stateside. Like excuse me. I just don;t get it.

My medical is also on Monday and I'm hoping everything goes well. Trying to get blood out of my arm is a chore and a half. Makes me wonder how I get blood around my body... well, better begin drinking copious amounts of water all through the weekend.

Good luck with your medical exam! I'm picking up my medical exam results today! :star:

I hope they don't say things like, "Oh, I forgot to give you this" and give me more shots. Fingers crossed!
