AOS checklist question

Hey,

on September 12th, we received an AOS checklist with the following instruction:

Part 3 Information on the Sponsor

[x] This section is incomplete, please answer all questions completely. (If a question is not applicable, please indicate N/A in the appropriate space.)

In Part 3, Question 9 (place of residence) we did not write anything at all, we left the space blank. The form clearly asks to fill this section only if the place of residence is different from the mailing address. For us, the mailing address and place of residence are the same, so we thought it was OK to leave it blank! Apparently, we had to write "N/A" (which is not specified on the form) to that question...

Anyways, we resubmitted it the same day, but I'm curious to know if this happened to anyone else? All you guys with complete cases all wrote "N/A" to that question?

It's really upsetting, 60 more days of waiting now, for an incredibly stupid reason... :ranting:

Writing "N/A" should not be a problem. I think it is good that you didn't leave the question's answer area blank. Others might not share my opinion.

Best of luck, waiting...

Nope, unfortunately, that happened to us as well... and cost us another 56 days until NVC reviewed the "corrected" form :protest: I think some administrator said that about 50% receive a checklist for that.

Wow that is pretty terrible! I think I'm going to file a complaint, it really is a problem on their side if it happens to so many people... Maybe it can make a difference for the people after us.

It is a huge problem because the current instructions are indeed misleading and NVC knows about it, but they told us they couldn't do anything about it and complaints had to be submitted to the Department of State as they are responsible for the instructions of all the forms. It's just frustrating because their lack of communication and cooperation is causing a delay for so many of us.

Same thing happened to us. I left it blank and I got a checklist. Apparently, we need to put N/A. :ranting:

i recently sent my AOS form and i went by the instruction of the form; so i left some questions blank because they were not applicable to me

i read somewhere that i should not have left anything blank

my question is for those of you who received checklist because of the address; did you leave any other blank space such as beneficiary green card number

thanks
