Do I need to write my social security number on the back of my passport photo (I am the petitioner)

Well I guess you can read them again, if you wish. The instructions for marking the passport photos provided in the VJ K1 Guide:

are consistent with the Form I-129F instructions found on page 6:

It is not as strict as you imagine. Why something on the back? In case they fall on the floor, USCIS will know which file they fell out of. You won't fail if you put name, birthdate, SSN, all of the above, some of the above, or none of the above.

Pick what seems most logical and efficient to you and you won't be graded off. Or read the instructions.

And some advice-- When somebody (A&B) provides you with a link and page number for an official source, they are trying to help you get the answer, rather than spoon feeding you.

But the kind ladies gave you incorrect answers if you want to do exactly as the form instructions say.

b. Submit a passport-style color photograph of yourself and a passport-style color photograph of your beneficiary, with both photos taken within 30 days of the date of filing this petition. The photos must have a white background, and be glossy, un-retouched, and be unmounted. The dimension of the full frontal facial image should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print the name (and Alien Registration Number, if known) on the back of each photograph.

And I was trying to calm your worries by saying what is on the back of your passport photos is not a deal breaker. Your petition will not be rejected over this, no matter what you put.

You want people to just tell you what the instructions say rather than reading them yourself? How would you know you were getting the correct answers, as Nich-Nick pointed out, you weren't in this thread. You think it is rude that people on a DIY site expect you to read through all the form instructions? Seems more stressful to rely on hearsay only. Good luck to you.

There is no need to attack members who are trying to help but on the other side, there is also no call to get uncivil back- the "Report" button is there for a reason. ****
