Hey guys,

I have my interview on friday in Dublin, Ireland and i was reading on the check list that they may need to take my passtport and it will be expressed mailed back t me. I have no problem with this, they can have it. The only thing is i will need it back by Wednesday as i'm going out of the country.

Does anyone know if they can do what they need to do the same day and give it back or do i just need to hope i have it back by Wednesday?

One more thing, Dublin give the Visa the same day right? Any help on this i would be really greatful. Thanks a million guys.

It is "normal" for many Consulates to take 1-3 days to affix the VISA stamp inside the passport and do whatever admin stuff they need to do, then they mail the passport to you afterwards. Brazil does this. I don't know if Dublin gives the VISA the same day. If you need the Passport back asap, be sure to tell them and maybe they will accomodate. If you have to wait vs receiving it in the mail, might be a good idea to hang around Dublin for a day or so, then you can return to the Consulate and receive the Passport into your hands.

Yes, you can get your visa on the day of your interview in Dublin. In my case the computer system did not cooperate, so I had to wait until the next day. I collected my passport myself - they never gave me an option of having it mailed and even if they did I would have preferred to collect it myself anyway.

Good luck!

Hi Dermot,

In Dublin you can get your visa the same day and I believe they offer a fast delivery or personal pick up option. I think the fast delivery can be next working day but if you are based near or in Dublin, you may as well collect it personally. If your interview is Friday you will definitely get it back before Wednesday.
