Expedite Approved

I'm so emotional right now, getting this e-mail literally almost made me break into tears knowing that someone was compassionate enough to understand my hardship and help me with processing my wife's visa. After contacting the NVC today regarding our "Under Review" e-mail response to our expedite request, I contacted the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest and within a very professional time of under 2 hours I received this response :

We will contact you as soon as we receive the file from NVC. The consular officer approved your request for expeditious processing.

Our expedite was approved, I feel like hugging everyone at the embassy right now. I know we need to gather the rest of our documents to submit to the embassy, but how long does it usually take a case to go from the NVC to the Embassy? We'll need to priority mail a few documents from our joint sponsor to Romania, we just want to make sure we have enough time. Also, once they receive the file, do they set up an interview or will we need to make several trips to submit documents for them to process?

what was the reason for expedite?

I had a very justifiable medical reason and incurred a sever financial hardship that I cannot resolve until i'm back in the states due to an error from one of my benefits providers.

That's great lucky you. So you called your embassy directly and said what?

I did not call the embassy. They have an e-mail address regarding visa inquiries and I e-mailed them. You may not get the person on the phone who is reviewing your case, and I also find its better for them to have in writing your inquiry than to just say it and hope they remember.

In my e-mail I explained that the NVC informed me they had sent the request to the embassy for a decision and I was just asking if they had made a determination or if there was anything I could do to assist them in making a determination. I briefly explained how urgent the situation was and had them refer to my request expedited from the embassy as to not overload them with more information they already had available.

I provided all information in the e-mail as I did to the NVCExpedite e-mail and provided two phone numbers for us here.

They responded, very professionally, within less than 2 hours.
