Am so sorry for your checklist. I don't know what I'll do if I ever get a checklist :dead: :dead: :dead:

Yes I also follow nairaland too. :wow: so no more free slot for October again? The CO at the Lagos embassy stated last week that they still have free slot for October and that they are still willingly to schedule more people for October if NVC ask them if they can still take more for October :dead: :dead:

**I was hoping to reschedule for October date :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

Yes it sucks! The VO told someone on nairaland today that October is closed for interviews. The Lagos consulate is very strict. I cried when I got a checklist for failing to include 2013 taxes. my sis forgot to include her taxes, she is my joint sponsor. I hope some miracle happens and I get cc by the end of the month. oh well I so badly wanted to be in the states before thanksgiving. I wanted to roast my turkey, so badly

With the new NVC process, I think it will be easy for those that will be joining NVC newly.

Would you happen to know the new process or what they are doing differently then before? I'm just curious

Hahahaa thanks your so sweet but this is what they wanted and they got it so here we are :D Kind of don't feel like asking Salyin to link it I'm guessing she will if she wants to. Little bit hurt by the attitude and words used ie dirt. I wonder why people think it's ok to just be mean and nasty but no problem. What would be nice if we could moderate our own threads heheheheee would be nice.

How are you and your family MoBar hows the family doing? :D.

I have been shocked by the attitudes of some people on the NVC thread. So many people love to hide behind their computers and be mean -- it makes them feel powerful in a life where they probably have none.

Now i'm being mean, oops!

Hi tbthree86, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Since September is the last month of dv lottery, nvc started scheduling alot of k1,&k3 interviews, they makeup a lot of the interviews at the consulate. The consulate also said they would not change appt dates, unless it is life or death.

Well, your post made me sad, since I don't want to be in a DV lottery backlog at the consulate. But if September was the last month for those guys, wouldn't they need to spend few months in NVC processing before an interview is scheduled for them? Maybe we will be done with interviews and off on our marry ways and K1 and K3s will not delay us?

Kanuk, I feel for you as one time green card holder having to go through the process again.

I am petitioning for my mother, who also had a green card and lived in the States for 5+ years but never got US citizenship. She went back home and stayed busy with house repairs, dental surgeries, etc. and as a result she overstayed her 12 months. Since she is retired, it was not an issue for us, but it turned out to be a huge issue once she wanted to return to the US. Now she has to go through the process again. In the meantime, she has not been able to see me either get married, or have a baby - her first grandchild. She was refused a tourist visa since she did not meet the intent to immigrate requirement. And since her dental surgeries and house repairs were "within her control" she was not deemed eligible as a returning resident. My husband and I are expecting again and I hope mom will get to see my belly this time around. It has taken us over a year to go through this process and we are still not done with it. :clock:

I too am going through the green card process again because my time outside of the US was not beyond my control (despite studying on a federal student loan and filing taxes). It is a horrible feeling being kept out of the country one has made home. I hope things hurry along for you.

Hahaha, I've lived in Yellowknife for 4+ yrs... Now that's some cold....Brrrrrrr......!!

If it makes any of you first-timers feel better. I have already had the green card, have two US citizen kids and hubby of 16 yrs, and I am trapped alone on this side of the border going through it all again too.

Let us keep each other's chins up, drink much wine and enjoy Austin's hard drive full of images relevant to the NVC process!

(I have no warm place in my heart for Nebraska these days... fyi).

Oops. I should have multi-quoted. I hear you. I have a husband of 6 years and a daughter I had in the US. I lived in the US for 4 years and this is my second GC journey. Everything I own is back in the US, even my bank accounts. It's horrible. My husband is leaving us to go back to the US because he is not allowed to stay here, meanwhile my daughter is begging him to stay. Damn immigration laws and the breaking up of families!

Feel free to message me if you wish to hear me rant more about this

I thought my question would better thrive here than in the 'normal' nvc thread,

I've seen plenty of people complaining about the nvc -usually justified- and Soloenta even has a link in her signature where to send complaints about Rep's that are w@nkers. Now I am wondering, can I use the same address to tell the supervisor that a certain rep did an outstanding job and was actually polite to me?

I've been around here for a while, and I've called the nvc about 1 gazilion times and for the first time I had a rep (Rick) who was polite, and actually tried to help me.

So.. does anyone have any input on this?

I used the same contact details to thank some reps I spoke with. I received a response today, after a couple of weeks, thanking me for the kind words

Hi guys.....can I play here too? I keep getting kicked out of the other because I dont play nice with rude people? Please :)

Marriage: 12/10/2013
Sent I-130: 1/23/14
NOA1: 1/30/14
NOA2: 6/10/14
Email that it was shipped to nvc: 6/23/14
Received by NVC: 7/1/14
Case#/IID# assigned: 7/16/14
Received/Submitted DS-261: 7/29/14
Paid AOS fee: 7/30/14
Sent AOS packet: 8/1/14
Aos fee showing PAID: 8/2/14
Received and paid IV Fee: 9/8/14 (fee showing paid / DS-260 available 9/9/14)
Submitted DS-260: 9/11/14
Sent IV packet: 9/24/14
NVC Received 9/26/14

Arrived in US: 3/8/14

STILL HAPPY AND NORMAL AS OF 8/4/2016!!

AOS Approved per phone: 10/22/14
*Received what I thought was a false checklist on this date as well*

*Problems: Called on 10/27/14 11/5/14 and 11/20/14 just to be proactive On all of these dates except the last, NVC kept telling me that my IV document probably hadn't been reviewed yet. On 11/20 the representative told me that the BC needed to be inextensa and the marriage license. True enough I had sent an extracto. But requested a supervisor review bc I knew the marriage lic was inextensa. 2 days later called again and got the same supervisor who told me that the marriage lic needed the proper signed legalizada (sticker on the back)

Sent necessary documents/Received: 11/20/14 and 11/26/14

Called 12/15/14: got Arthur....after he checked and verbally spanked he sent me to supervisor Silvia who said she would pull my file and try to figure it out.

Case complete: 12/19/14 Sylvia called and left a voicemail, called and confirmed later that night and status changed to N/A.

Thank you so much Sylvia. May God bless you and your family.

Appointment date and time received: 12/27/14

***FAST FORWARD***

Would you happen to know the new process or what they are doing differently then before? I'm just curious

Old and current process of waiting for 60days for each package to be reviewed, the new process according to their website is that all packages can be sent in ONE package. Which I think it will work if both AOS and IV fees are released at the same.
