CR-1 Visa, AOS package ??...patiently waiting

I am faced with a decision to retain or drop my lawyer.

Currently:

AOS package was sent to NVC July 25 (via lawyer, Certified Mail)

Receipt Tracking # shows a pick-up July 25 and a delivery July 29 (NVC address)

NVC Operator said they show never receiving ANY mail regarding anything to my Case #

Lawyer does not explain any plan of recourse. Or contact the NVC center with e-mail inquiry.

Not isolated, lawyer continually demonstrates behavior.

I am close to having my wife and daughter with me, I am afraid to rock the boat. And enter an uglier situation then the current.

Scenario (1) : I Drop the lawyer

Any procedural paper work or declaration evolving leaving?

What documentation is expected to be given to me ? From the first doc. to present. (Official copies?)

Copies of all documents filed?

Anything else ???????

Scenario (2) : Weather the Storm (politely phrased)

I really should have done my homework.......

I am really sorry for you delay and incompetent lawyer.

When was the last time you contacted NVC and asked them about your paperwork? Have you logged on to the portals to see status of your AOS or IV?

You can always contact NVC via email and have lawyer removed and adding you and your spouse emails so you and only you get notification.

Ask you lawyer for all documents? If NVC hasn;t received your documents by now you will need to redo it all again getting certified copies again and sending in the package yourself. But call NVC today if you haven't lately just to be sure.

Once you get everything situated tell lawyer they are fired and you are reporting them to the state bar for malpractice and incompetence and not delivering a service as promised.

September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
