I am at the noa2 stage . My fiancee works in hong kong . I know she needs a hong kong police clearance . My question is does she have to send the clearances with her packet or can she take them to her interview when the time comes . She will have to quit her job early if she has to send them in with the packet because she has to go to the Philippines to get them .

Take them with her during the interview. I don't know what you mean about sending the packet since you already have your NOA2 per your timeline.

Where is your fiancee do the interview, HK or Manila? They each have their own procedures, no packet is sent to USEM before the interview, everything is hand carried.

What address did you list in Part 2, section 3a-i of the I-129F? If you listed your fiancee's address in the Philippines odds are the case file will go to Manila. Normally NVC does not check Part 2, section 36 for where to send the case file, not sure why they bothered having that section

Did you get a MNL # from NVC or a HKG # ?

Hank I am pretty sure I put her hong kong address because you wanted to work as long as she could . Her employers are not good people . They told her she had to quit if she went back to the Philippines .

If you used a HK address for your fiancee that is where the case file will go. Contacting NVC to change embassies is almost an act of futility, but I would not hesitate to call them just the same, you may get lucky and catch the file before it leaves.

Worse case if it ships to HK you will have to contact USEM to get the case file moved to the Phils.

We did HK clearance, my wife worked in HK at the time, and we used Manila for interview. So we were in identical situation as you. Here is our experience:

HK sends the clearance directly to USEM. They don't send you anything, so you need to send USEM an email to confirm that they got it.

Apply for it in person at HK police HQ. You save tons of time over doing it by mail. They specify that you bring your USEM invitation letter, but you don't need that. NVC letter containing your MNL number is fine. The other stuff on their list is pretty straightforward. They will fingerprint you there when you apply. Whole thing took us about 3 weeks.

Hope this helps.
