Hi Everybody :)

I know this question has already been asked, but I couldn't find it..

I'm a little worried about wether it's 6months after the medical exam or the interview that the beneficiary has to enter the U.S. ...i may not be able to leave work directly..

What did you tell your employer?

I don't want to tell them any thing until I really have the visa in hand.

Thank you all for your help :)

So it's not gonna be easy.

It's going to be really hard;

we're gonna have to work at this everyday,

but I want to do that because I want you.

I want all of you, forever, everyday.

You and me.. everyday.

Read after visa issuance here. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/fiance-k-1.html#14

I also read on USCIS on the consulate website yesterday that the visa will expire six months from the date of the medical exam

I am the petitioner and i have already told my boss and said when she gets i am taking some time off. If you are the petitioner you do not have to take time off to go get your fiancee some do and some do not to save money and vacation time. I have time banked and she wants me to come and help her with her stuff. So i will.

Each situation is different

My fiancee will tell her employeer until the visa has been issued. Once it is issued we will tell them and that is that.

I got asked to work till january, which would be 4+ months after the medical exam.

It should be okay then...

I reviewed the jerusalem consulate website. It is the one my fiancee will be using. It says visa will be issued with an expiration date six months from date of medical exam.

If you can stay workimg until january great. But you both put too much effort into the visa to blow it

Oh I wouldn't blow it for all the money in the world. I just needed to be sure because if I just quit the job against their will I will have money to pay the employer xD I'll just see how it goes but I won't blow it for suuure :)

Thank you hopeful4XMas :)

I hope we won't go through too long administrative processing, I really have no idea why they would do that...

I talked with my employer and will leave beginning of January.

I'm sooooo excited for the interview! :D

Jumping in to say...

Good luck at your interview! :D

Also, each embassy is different. Ireland actually goes by the date of approval, not the interview. Either way though, it looks like you'll be covered. And time will fly! :D

You are welcome : )

Yes Consulate is different, I was linking the one I and my fiancée will be dealing as an example. I would google the name of the Consulate with the with what you want to know, example Manila Consulate K1 Visa expiration or K1 visa expires. see what comes up.

Well Gods speed and many blessings

Thank you to the both of you Tina and Johan and hopeful4XMas.

Congratulations on your wedding Tina and Johan !

On the page of the US embassy of my country it was written: If found eligible, a visa will be issued, valid for one entry during a period of 6 months.

I may end up asking them after the interview, if it goes well lol

All this is just so stressful for all of us ! Ugh lol

That is what our consulate said as well. I am thinking that it may be standard everywhere but have not had the time to do the research
