Mailing I - 130

Its been more than a month that we are working on getting all documents to file i-130 for cr1 visa. Finally we are almost done with collecting documents required.

So with all those documents, the entire paper work is thick. Do any one know how should we mail them? Do we put them in Spiral binding or just staple the papers or put it in a clear plastic bags before putting into the envelop?

As i have read somewhere, so first we put G-1145 and then the fee and then Cover letter and then I-130 and G-325 A form for Petitioner and beneficiary and then the serial wise documents as mentioned over cover letter. AM I CORRECT?

We are ready to mail them on Wednesday 'coz that's the day when my lady has day off at work. Any help / advise will be appreciated

I just sent my I-130 application on the 15th August 14. It was received on the 18th and I got a confirmation.

Normally you just add the cover letter with the G-325A and put a binding clip on your documents. That's what I did.

You can mail them in an ordinary large envelope. Ours was mailed via Posta Romana in Romania and my mother received it, added the payment check of $420, and sent it USPS from there to USCIS.

Documents that were multiple forms, we stapled. We paper clipped our passport photos to a blank piece of printer paper after putting them in the bag, but that isn't mandatory. If a few documents were not necessarily the same document, but supporting evidence, such as our lease and translation, we just paper clipped them together so they could be easily viewed through.

As long as its organized, i don't think it matters how you send it. Just make sure you send it so it doesn't shift a lot or out of order, like in a box (Silly, but who knows). Also, make sure you get tracking

Don't staple, don't spiral bind, and don't put in clear plastic bags. Just use big binder clips and drop in an envelope large enough to accommodate the size of the file.
