The blood titer test was my first thought too, we went to his doctor 2 weeks ago to ask for them, I was even willing to pay for them, but his doctor is a know it all idiot an you can't tell him anything!!! He refused to do the titer tests, and insisted on doing the mmr and td right then and there. I told him Jeff shouldn't have the td until 4 weeks before the interview, but he said that is only if he has proof of an initial series otherwise he has to get it twice 4 weeks apart. I kept showing him the paper where it says OR a booster within the last 4 weeks but he just wouldnt listen!!! So now Jeff has to go back 10/8 for a second td and the flu shot since his medical won't be scheduled before then. I am so worried about all that extra mercury in his system, the doctor said that is "hogwash". Oh well, at least it will all be over soon, then we will be on the hunt for a new doctor in a new country where free healthcare is only a dream.

Unfortunately, you must get Tdap since there is no blood titer test for Td and Tdap.

However, you must get "Tdap (Adacel or Boosterix) - ensure you get Tdap not just Td" (if you are between 27 and 49 years old) according to my doctor.

I believe you can get it anytime so I got Tdap (Adacel or Boosterix) three months ago.

What do you mean by cc??

CC means Case Complete and happens once NVC has received, reviewed and accepted all of your documents from both AOS and IV packages. It is a major accomplishment!

If you can, please fill in your timeline to share with all of us where you are at in the process. I am guessing you are might be in the wrong thread if you don't know what cc is. You are still welcome here of course, but you might get more info from the monthly threads

Sorry to hear this! What a mind game NVC is. How can one person tell say you have a CC and then the next say you don't?

When I spoke to the normal rep they said they would request a supervisor review that would take up to 60 days. (that's when I asked to speak to a supervisor). They told me one wasn't available and that is when I lost my sh*t and started crying because I was so upset as I had already waited 67 days. The rep put me on hold and magically a supervisor became available.

Then I spoke to supervisor Octavio who initiated the supervisor review himself on a Friday (he had to request my file from another building) and I called back on the Tuesday and he reviewed and completed my case over the phone. At first he told me to wait for an email, but I complained that the case complete emails are delayed by a week, so he agreed to let me call back and ask for him on Tuesday.

So, if you do call again try to find out if your case has been given to a supervisor yet and which one so you can follow up with them directly. When I called Octavio back, he had not yet done it but was able to put me on hold and do it in less than 5 minutes. Might depend who you get, I think I was very lucky to get Octavio.

I did ask for a supervisor but she said the paper work with was with a supervisor when I asked who it was she said she didn't know, I called again another rep said the exact same thing. But I'll try again see what happens then let you know. thank you for your good wishes I truly appreciate them.

Hey need some suggestions.

Have my interview on Oct 1st, and embassy is shut from 2nd to 6th. When will it be the safest bet to fly out? Do you guys think I can expect my pp and visa by 7th or latest 8th? Can I request for a same day visa? Do they even oblige? Is it even possible?

I wouldn't consider any flights before mid-October if I were you. In this case, you might wanna wait until you get approved before buying the tickets, if that's your concern. Two-weeks advance reservation can still get you a good fair. Do mock reservations online one-week and two-weeks in advance and see what you get.

So taking a titer test will tell all the vaccinations you have had. Is that enough as proof, (you think?) for the immunization purposes for immigration?

I'm not sure it's worth it, especially if you'll only get two vaccines and you have no medical issues against them (I had MMR and Td). Td you'll need to take every 10 years anyway. Check with your doctor what vaccines you would need. You could also check CDC's Recommended Immunization Schedules at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/easy-to-read/adult.html which DOS seems to follow to the letter.

More info to those contemplating shipping their household. After spending three days packing my stuff and being pleased with my packing prowess, I found out the shipping company will have to unbox everything and take inventory and repack themselves anyway. US customs insist that the shipper attest to every item in the shipment for security reasons. So folks, at least don't seal the boxes except in front of the shipper's rep.

In my case, I'm shipping a full load of a 20' container so I opted for door to door. I haven't received the quote yet, but I bet it'll cost an arm and a leg.
