How long does it usually take Nebraska to ship the approved petition to NVC? Wondering if they tossed mine on the truck yet or if someone is still using it as a coaster.

Mine was approved on the 11th of August and shipped on the 15th. I called nvc on August 27th and they said they've received it on that day! it has been 1 week and I called to find out my case number..NO LUCK!! My phone keeps on showing USER BUSY!!! AAHHHHH SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

Just checking in everyone :). Me and my wife are going to head off to London tomorrow afternoon to stay over night and be up early Friday for the BIG DAY!.

Quite nervous. So is my wife. Don't know who is more nervous though. I haven't been able to respond or able to catch up on the threads since life has been busy for the past week now. I hope to hear the good news Friday morning :).

All the best those still waiting at NVC! It gets easier once you get passed this stage..

Good luck!

Good luck!

Hello guys I have a question. I am waiting for my case number and while I am doing that, I am collecting everything needed for the AOS and IV package. I live with my parents and they file taxes and I am dependent. I've printed out the I864....I am confused if I should write my name or my father's name because I am the petitioner, however my dad is the supporter. Please help!!

Is your father a co-sponsor? If so, you will need two forms, one for him and one for you.

Just trying to be helpful so that you shouldn't realize later that if you did this way it would have saved some time. Also, since you are going to trust your PILs with the form, ask them to scan it and email you so you can see for yourself whether they did everything right. Oh, and yes after paying your fees you get the option of emailing the barcode sheet to any email address you'd like.

I live abroad with my husband and we personally chose option 2. I sent everything to my mom in California, and she added my parent´s docs and sent everything along to NVC. They don´t care where the documents are shipped from. Just to be sure, we skyped the night before she mailed the package and showed me one by one the documents and the page order. If you look at my timeline, you´ll see I got checklisted, but that has nothing to do with my mom sending the package. Good luck!

Thanks so much everyone! This is a great thing to do I think. All that needs to happen is husband's parents need to sign the form and put it back in the post so there's really not much they can get wrong and they have done this process before so they understand what needs to happen. I think if there is anything that goes wrong it definitely won't be their fault and I'm really not the kind of person to blame anyone for things that were not their fault. Personal responsibility is my jam :)

I'm going to send my IV documents too, I have them all, just need to collate and copy some things like my birth certificate etc. I'm just wondering about maybe having the PIL keep a hold of it for the moment because I haven't done the DS-260 yet and I think there might be some notes I need to add in my package like a note that I had two residences at age 16 due to divorced parents, and why there's a 3 month gap (travelling when 21). That way I can just send them the cover letter with table of contents and explanatory pages then they can send it on. Thoughts?

I am the beneficiary. My husband is the petitioning USC.

Yes-- there will be one with your father's information, which he will sign, and one with your information which you will sign. If you look at the form you will see that there are specific questions that indicate whether the signer is a sponsor, co-sponsor, et cetera. Then you will also need to send tax transcripts and so forth for both people. And also something to prove your father's citizenship, such as a copy of a passport or birth certificate. Pay stubs or employment letters are also recommended.

I woke up at 5am to the "ping" sound of an email and I looked to see it was from NVC! I was so excited! But was it our IV fee????

NO.

ANOTHER 60 DAYS EMAIL FOR THE FRIGGIN' IV PACKAGE.

Lame.

Hmmmmm just wondering why I haven't received that 60 days email for our IV packet. Scanned date is on the 27th. Maybe they're busy reviewing it that's why they didn't bother sending us hahahaha I am dreamin' again??

Wow I never got a second 60 day email for the IV package either, my package was sent august 7. I'm wondering if I should be worried? I sent my documents via EP and the operators can't confirm what they have received only that they have "something". Have any others gotten a second 60 day email for the IV docs?

I received a letter from my US Senator Barbara Mikulski It reads:

Dear Mrs Hampton

Thank you for contacting my office and giving me the opportunity to assist you. My staff and I will do our best to help you resolve your problem. I have been in touch with the National Visa Center and have asked that this matter be attended to promptly. I will get back to you as soon as I receive a response to my inquiry.

Thanks to my Senator my case was closed Fri. I received a checklist for the Russian police certificate. The same day they received it my case was closed. I did not have to wait. I thank Senator Mikulski for all her help.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CONGRATULATIONS not only for moving ahead but for having a great Senator most of them are worthless. So happy for you!

Wait.. So my father will be the first joint sponsor and I am the second? I don't work so I don't have tax transcripts. My father is a citizen so I'll just send his passport copy. I was doing a rough draft on the form and I don't know where to write my name. btw thank you for your quick replies :)
