The new version of the form DS-156K states that you must submit the following documents WITH that form when you mail it to the embassy.

* Police Certificate

* Birth Certificate

* Evidence of Financial Support

* Marriage/Divorce/Death Certificates

* Proof of Engagement

However, I e-mailed my Embassy (London) to find out whether that is true because you are usually asked for those items at your interview. The wrote back:

"The documents are furnished on the day of the visa interview. We require the original and one copy.

Sincerely

Consular Information Unit"

So I guess you ignore what the form says and do not send those items as you will need them later. Perhaps that information comes as a seperate sheet in Packet 3, but I wasn't sure so I figured I'd better ask!

Thanks, Kinsey... I was just thinking 'they can't mean that, that must be wrong, I'm ignoring it & just taking my docs to the interview' - but good to hear it straight from the horse's Embassy's mouth!

For those goiing through Casablanca, be aware that in addition to what is listed above, they are currently requiring a document that says you are single/free to marry as well as a court document regarding your criminal background. The police report is still required, but not enough.
