NOA2 notification: email? snail-mail letter? attorney's office?

Quick question for those of you who have already received their NOA2 messages:

I applied for my fiance (Feb 18th) and we are still waiting on our NOA2 (nobody warned me the wait would be this excruciating - TSC please hurry up!). We both live in Peru, so we used an attorney from the USA to help us out.

When we finally receive our NOA2, how should we expect the message to arrive? I am assuming it is in the form of an email, but perhaps it will go first to our attorney? Does a hard copy letter get sent to the USA address provided on the application, as well? The snail-mail system to Peru is almost comically abysmal...

Thank you in advance for any help! Also, what exactly does the NOA2 contain? What type of information?

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure how it works if you have an attorney in mix. Usually the petitioner initially receives an email (if the G1145 was included in the initial petition packet) about petition approval. Then in a couple of weeks (hopefully) the petitioner should get the petition approval (NOA2) hardcopy. A copy of NOA2 was included in a posting on this forum about two hours before your posting: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/510271-noa-2-hard-copy/ . You should likely contact your lawyer about this.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

If you submitted G-1145, you should get email and/or text message (but this doesn't occur reliably),

and a hard copy in the post mail...I would imagine to the US address that you provided.

My NOA2 (that looks similar to NOA1) from TSC took about 6 months, and I recall that it basically said

your petition has been approved and that your case is being forwarded to NVC.

You should check your status online here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do You can also register here to be notified by SMS and E-mail. I originally filled out G1145 to be notified via e-mail, but it didn't work, so I registered online and got notifications via SMS and e-mail. You will be notified of NOA2 and any changes and hard copy will be mailed to Petitioner's home as well. Good Luck!

Besides the online status update, the USC petitioner will receive an actual hard copy letter approval notice for the I-129F(NOA2). You will need a copy of the NOA2 when it comes time to file for AOS after you are married, so don't lose it.
