Hello VJ community,

I finally received an email today about the status of my wifes i864 form! however they told me I needed to correct a question on the form about my salary and taxes :o That is no problem, but I have a question about some personal information. Since I sent my i864 the last time, my address and work status have changed. (im moving back to the united states from japan, so I have finished my job and moved to live with my wife for a few weeks before heading back to america) The email I received did not ask to change anything except the question about my salary for the most current year, so i didnt know if i should leave the other personal information alone and send it as is, or take it upon myself to update the information even though it wasnt requested?

I have already informed the NVC about my address change via phone, I was just wondering about what to do with the i864 form this time when i fill out the current work and address sections. Maybe correct it and put a note in the cover letter?

Any information would be great, thanks!! I just want to correct this thing and send it in! Im tired of waiting!! :clock:

Sorry if this information can be found somewhere else, etc, its just a pain waiting almost two months and then getting back some disappointing news. I just want to confirm this before I send it in the second time as I dont want to wait another month to be told I've done something wrong again!

thank you again for your help!!

Not really in a position to give you advice, but I had a similar experience - Current year problem on my i864 (damn unclear gross income vs adjusted gross income stuff). My fault. Once I understood what they wanted, it meant my answer for the projected year was also wrong. So I changed both figures on the I-864 (the one they asked for and the one they did not), and attached a cover letter explaining both of the changes and logic clearly. Our process is not completed yet but the revised I864 issue has been corrected and is now complete in their process - they will not inform you, I had to call and see if it was still in checklist or accepted and complete which it is. Good luck - hope sharing this helps some.

I would update it with correct address and work information, and attach a cover letter

explaining what was changed and the reasons for the changes.

I can't see them punishing you for providing updated correct information.
