Filing for a I-130 petition

This came as a topic of discussion between myself and my husband. If you are a US citizen, you are eligible to petition your parents and siblings. Do I file 2 separate I-130 for them or I can use just one? My mom doesnt want to live here, all she wants to come here for a vacation and go back to our home country. She requested though that I petition my younger brother.

What do you think? any insights?

Thanks!!!

each person needs their own petition Your sibling will take 23 years under the current wait. If your mother doesn't want to live in the US then it is a waste to petition for her

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Yes US citizens can petition their immediate relatives, parents and children. Petitioning a sibling is a very different situation. You can do it, but there is a waiting list about 20 years long for siblings from the Philippines. Fastest way to get a sibling is to petition the parent, who petitions their child.

Your Mum just needs a visitor visa.

You can petition your Brother.

Since your brother is Filipino, it will take over 20 years to sponsor him directly.

If he's young enough, you can sponsor your mother for a green card and once she has one, she can sponsor him as her son (unmarried child of a permanent resident and under 21). This will be much faster, but requires 3 things:

-Your brother will have to be under 21 when your mom sponsors him.

-He has to be unmarried.

-Your mom will have to move to the US when she gets her green card so that she can sponsor him.

If he's over 21 or if your mom refuses to move here, then it'll be decades before he gets his greencard.
