hey everyone,
my ceac changed to 'issued' yesterday (4th/ August)
and I was just wondering from other people's experiences who have recently received their passport/visa and 'issue' Ceac.

how long after your issued status, did you receive an email from DX ? :)

Recent estimates are 2-4 days*. Your visa and passport should be ready to pick up from the depot approximately one week after your interview date or up to two weeks if you asked for it to be delivered. If you don't get the email by Friday, I'd contact the embassy via the online contact form and ask when/if your passport and visa have been released. I believe they do these things in batches so it could be that your items have already gone out or are ready to go out.

The email will be from the visa unit and will state that your document has been released, including a tracking link.

Congratulations - almost there!

*Last couple of months. I've just read a post from Nich-Nick on another forum stating that there is a computer/database problem, so there could be more of a delay. That said, advice still holds, if you don't hear anything by Friday, contact them using their online form.

I think the computer delay has been resolved and they will catch up with backlogs created soon. The delay was getting the visa issued. I think once issued, the timeline is the same as always: Issue one day, hand it over the next day or two, one to two days for delivery depending on how far/remote your address is. The courier is not "overnight" like FedEx, but many places do receive delivery the next day.

I remember when we were waiting, people would post they got a text while on the coach home from the interview that delivery would be the next day. How nice! But ours took a week because the computers were down at the interview so issue delayed, then weekend, then DX truck broke down on Monday with our packet on it. Delivered late Tuesday. Things happen so it is always a guessing game.

My wife's interview was on August 7th (Thursday) at 8am. By the time we got home around 1pm, the status has changed to "issued." Email from DX Group came this morning (Monday August 11th) and the package will get delivered tomorrow. Considering we just had a weekend, the Embassy works quite fast.

What's your update?
