NSO documents thru SM mall

finally we're done with our interview today. we're done by 845, unfortunately they request a newset of our NSO documents - birth/marriage cenormar... CO said our NSO documents are "almost fake",, inquired again and again where did i get our papers...even asked if i still a hve a receipt to prove.. gladly showed her my cenomar receipt dated july 18, verified the secpa paper... and said ' it'll be much better if you request a new set of documents" and i just said its ok. i didn't argue nor contend...

now i am wondering why would they say 'its almost fake' ?-

.

what a stressful day but positively thinking, atleast - ATLEAST NSO documents are all just we need. (filled it already at NSO pasay)

how long does it usally takes when your issued a 221g under NSO document?

the NSO certificates you previously submitted, when did you apply or receive it from NSO? I am also curious as to how they could say it's almost fake.

my reason for asking is I have submitted an old NSO Birth Certificate (printed 2010) and I am thinking if the embassy will also consider it as "fake".

Maybe because it's look old,sometimes when the paper is old, like it's been with you for how many months the paper become soft, specially when you fold it..better to take atleast 1 mos old before the interview.and always put inside the plastic envelope.

It might the paper as those get worn out. Better request a new copy and bring that with you to the interview just in case. Order online through nso helpline they'll deliver it within 3 days after payment

i submitted the IV packet last march so most probably i got it early this year or maybe late last year, i can't remember exactly when. i did even show them the cenomar i got from NSO/SMmall last week and even show them the receipt. but they told me the same.

i do have with me NSO originals of our birth/marriage which i filled last May - the CO looked at it also and just said 'i don't know why government used different kinds of papers " - the last i showed them was my hubby's birthcertificate which i have on file since 2009 got it from NSO east ave - turns out thats the good one...but CO doenst need it...

as i was looking thru the NSO papers on hand ( i don't know what my face looks like) - CO suddenly says " no worries ms.*****, you'll just request for new copies and it will directly send to us" .

i just hope it won't take a month...

Fraudulent documents are a big concern in the Philippines, so it is understandable for USEM to be extra cautious.

Most times I see this add 2 weeks to a month to the process once the embassy receives the new documents.

i just realized the email they sent to me is the 221g letter - does it have to be attached to NSOdocuments i request?

the lady at NSO ddnt ask me for anyhthing and jus t said they will send it to embassy. but the man in window 72 wrote my case number in ech of the NSO form..is that enjough?

thanks for reply hank and sorry for my stupidity

letter indicates that in under 221g, the NSo documents i need, what to do next and their( email and contact number - NO INSTRUCTION that i should attach a copy of the letter (unlike those for checklist at NVC)

what worries me is that he gave me back my appointment letter with the que number stapled and thei nstruction letter stating on #3 submit BOTH the colored NSO document request form AND this form to the NSO clerk. the nso clerk said they don't need it..

anyways, i'll be calling embassy tomorrow to double check..

NSO does this all the time with the embassy, so don't worry too much. I have read the embassy only gets those documents once a week (Friday), don't know for fact but I have read that a few different times.

For now you need to dip into your patience once more.

USEM will send an official request to NSO for the documents that you need. NSO will comply with the request and USEM will pick them up on Fridays for all the requests from earlier in the week (yours and others). Come Monday they will begin processing and matching the "new" documents to your file. Once that step is completed, then your file is sent onto the CO for their review. If they are satisfied then they will approve your visa. Then the visa is processed. About two weeks you will begin to see updates on ceac for your visa. Once it goes to ISSUED then you should see it in about 5 to 10 business days. Remember, these are normal processing times and process's and your actual experience may be different. By all means don't buy plane tickets till you have the visa in your hands!!!!!!
