Why don't you send the 1099 now instead of waiting for checklist.

they review the mail as it comes in. They will not go look for a piece of mail to complete a file. Your last scan date is the date the police certificate was scanned. JULY 18TH.

Well that is what I thought but when my husband called to check even before the 60-day notification, they mentioned that they had both packets and had actually scanned in the last packet on 21st July. Hence my hope that all my packets are being reviewed together.

But anyway, after dealing with all that happened with the USCIS and now what's going on with the NVC, nothing would surprise me. These guys don't seem to care much for genuine applications and the impact this very long process has on relationships so I'll keep hope alive but won't hold my breath.

Lemme say that I finally decided to stop being a passive observer of this forum and create a VJ account because of you, Soloenta. You and some of the other members on here are so much fun that I just had to say something to you :)

Thank you all for making this very painful journey bearable.

My 60-day letter says documents were received on 25th June which is when the bulk of IV checklist response was mailed. However the Singapore Police certificate which took about 15days to complete was received on 18th July. Just keeping my fingers crossed that since they are still reviewing my earlier documents, they will include the Singapore report as well and not give it an additional 60days from 18th July.

Wish us all a happy ending to this immigration ordeal.

Welcome to this wonderful site and long immigration journey. This journey is so long and frustrating, since NVC has started already with July packages, I guess you'll hear good news soon. I think there's an error on the date you received your DS-261/AOS: 2014-08-29, I tink it should be April and not August.

I pray we all get done with all this nightmare and unite with our loved ones.

if you mailed them in separate packages on different days.. they will only review the mail as it comes in. They have way too many pieces of mail to route through and look for yours. Go by the last day scanned. Sorry, maybe I got the date wrong in my last post

if your tax return has 1099 income, then YES, but you could ask a supervisor if they can let you bring it to the interview but I doubt that will work

just printout another AOS barcode coversheet and mail that 1099 ASAP. Last week preferably

Hey guys,

I got a letter from NVC with my interview date (Montreal Consulate) today.

It's been a long Journey but I'm glad it's coming to a close. I had received a letter just 2 weeks ago saying to expect delays (60 day letter), so I'm pleasantly surprised to get this interview letter. The letter is dated Aug 15 and the interview date is Sept 23rd.

Interestingly, my AOS had changed from "PAID" to "N/A" on their website 2 days ago so I knew something was up. Like others have suggested, this may be a sign that the case is complete.

Hope others get some good news soon.

Congratulations!

Hi Everybody,

I have a problem concerning mailing addresses. I am the beneficiary and I live in Switzerland. My husband was living with me from August 2013 to August 2014, he was working in Switzerland. Before that he was working in the US and so he filled his tax return.

When we applied for the visa in december 2013, we use our mailing address in Switzerland. However, when he filled his tax return in April 2014, he use a mailing address in the US (his ex wife).

I am afraid that we will have a check list concerning the AOS package because of the addresses do not match. Also, he filled his tax return as single...we are now doing an amendment to change that... I was also wondering if in the amendment we should also change his address? Or should we leave the address in the US? Cause now he is in the US again to work, and he is looking for a house to live.

Thanks for your help cause I am desperate right now!

Address issue is not a problem. The only thing NVC focuses on are the income amounts on tax information.

It's my second anniversary too in January and I was thinking since this process took so long to complete, why not enter US after two years of marriage to qualify for the 10-year green card. I am assuming we might get a November interview the way things are moving, that is if there's no checklist. So it would be better to wait two months and then enter US.

If you'll be that close to your 2 years and you're both willing to wait, I suggest it. It'll save you over $600, plus the headache of dealing with a bunch of paperwork again.

Hi, my husband printed out the transcripts and he didn't tell me about any instruction to attach the w2. We sent in the transcripts without the w2. Any knowledgeable member comment on this whether w2 still required if sending in transcripts.

The OP was referring to the I-864 instructions, not the tax transcript.

But, to answer your question, the only time W2s are needed along with tax transcripts are when the sponsor filed jointly and needs to show their own, individual income. (This is usually for joint sponsors and not petitioners).

Thank you. I have corrected the error on my timeline now.

The NVC stage seemed like it would be a breeze compared to the USCIS stage but looks like petitioning in the first half of 2013 was just poor timing. Keep running into delay after delay. :(

Like you, I pray we get out of this stage soon and don't face any more delays from here on out.

I don't think you need the W2 if you are sending transcripts.

Hi All - I'm excited I got notification to pay the IV fee yesterday. My DS-261 was submitted on 1 July (but then I stupidly clicked on the link again and it resent it on the 7 July). Exactly 30 business days! I was really surprised because I received the 60 days email for my AOS packet that was scanned on 9 July so I had assumed that I was in for a really long wait before I would be able to pay the IV fee. I've moved to the States with my children (so they can start school with their peers at the end of the month) and I am finding it hard being a 'single' parent to three kids. Anyone else in the same boat?

Her husband didn't "listen" to her. My man is the same. During USCIS stage we got an RFE for the marriage record in native language. When I told him we should send the same to NVC, he was adamant it won't be needed. It took almost 4 months for the file to reach NVC and when the time finally came to send in IV package, I asked him to include the marriage record and he did, totally forgot he didn't want to include it, LOL.

Thanks for understanding. Yes they think it will all be fine. Sometimes u need to get burnt to learn unfortunately.
